First Sgt. Al Williamson said Teleka Patrick’s gold 1997 Lexus ES300 was found at about 10:15 p.m. CST Thursday in a ditch on the north side of westbound I-94 near the Porter/Burns Harbor exit.

Williamson said a trooper who responded to a report of the abandoned Lexus found nothing suspicious in the car, but did locate some of Patrick’s personal belongings. Patrick’s purse was not found in the car, he said.

“We’ve canvassed the area, searched restaurants, truck stop and hotels,” Williamson said. “They haven’t seen anything.”

Undersheriff Pali Matyas told MLive they have not been able to retrieve footage from the parking security cameras because the hospital's system is not working.

"We're trying to retrace some of her steps but we're hoping people will call with some information," Matyas told MLive.

Matyas said no foul play is suspected at this time, but Indiana State Police said they later found Patrick's car abandoned in a ditch on I-94 near Portage, MLive reported. The car, a gold 1997 Lexus ES300, contained some of Patrick's personal effects inside, but Patrick's purse was not inside, MLive reported. Nothing suspicious was in the car.

"We've canvassed the area, searched restaurants, truck stops and hotels," Indiana First Sgt. Al Williamson told MLive. "They haven't seen anything."

KALAMAZOO, MI – Police in Indiana used a bloodhound Thursday and an all-terrain vehicle Friday in their search for a missing medical resident from Kalamazoo whose Lexus was found abandoned last week on I-94 near Portage, Ind.

They also are making plans to do an aerial search for Teleka Patrick, 30, said First Sgt. Al Williamson of the Indiana State Police.

“We’re doing all we can to determine what happened to her,” Williamson said. “… She’s pretty much just vanished. All we know is we have her car and we have nobody to go with the car.”

SNIP

Since Dec. 5, Williamson said his agency has combed a one-mile radius near the highway four times looking for Patrick, but so far have turned up nothing. He said investigators were using an all-terrain vehicle Friday to search for Patrick in areas covered with heavy brush.

On Thursday, he said the agency used a bloodhound to try to retrace Patrick’s steps from where her car was found. The sergeant declined to say what, if anything, the search by the bloodhound revealed.

He said Friday that police have a plan in the works to search the area off I-94 with a helicopter from the state police, the National Guard or the local sheriff’s office in Lake County, Ind., depending on availability.

SNIP

Williamson said, however, that police are investigating Patrick’s disappearance the same way they would if foul play was suspected and suggested not getting “hung up on the title” of the case.

“We’re investigating a missing woman who has no reason to be missing,” Williamson said. “… We are exhausting everything we can exhaust. We have not stopped.”

KALAMAZOO, Mich- A family searching for their missing daughter is making a cry for help.

SNIP

Here is the letter sent to FOX 17:

It’s been seven days, and we still can’t find our daughter. Teleka Cassandra Patrick is our eldest and has always been the light of our lives. The dark unanswered questions: where is she? who is she with? Is she ok? Is she alive?– the questions claw at us, tearing us to shreds. It takes all of our energy not to fall to the floor and scream our hearts out. Because it’s cold outside, and she is just a girl, the sweetest, kindest and most hopeful girl you could ever meet, who was was never too shy to show every single last one of her teeth when she smiled, never to shy to help someone in need, and never to shy to laugh out loud at her own sarcastic corny jokes (she thought she was hilarious). And oh, do we need to see her smile again.

She’s worked so, so hard every day of her life and recently finished a dual MD/PhD program at Loma Linda University, before starting her residency at Borgess and Bronson Methodist Hospitals. That is where she went missing on December 5th 2013. The days since have been the most brutal, maddening all consuming thing we have ever faced. It’s been seven days. Seven prayerful, hopeful, terrifying, excruciating, sleepless, tear-filled days- each day a lifetime, and she’s just a girl. A girl who loves sunflower seeds, playing her violin, sneaking white chocolate late at night, blasting her speakers to sing and dance to the latest Mary Mary song. A girl who loves cracking jokes on her little brother and sister Eddie and Tenesha and turning around and giving them sage old advice as if she were their grandmother. And now she’s lost.

We are holding fast to our lifeline, Jesus Christ. The inescapable harsh reality is that everyday that goes by, every day she’s lost in the freezing Midwestern winter means the search gets tougher and infinitely more frustrating, and the odds grow scarcer that she will ever be found. And we can’t live with that. We won’t. We need help, we need a miracle and we need your help. Our entire extended network of friends and family has come together to help in the search to find Teleka, but it hasn’t been enough. There is a growing social media campaign (#findTeleka), a account which is helping us raise funds for the search effort (www..com/findteleka), youtube videos (http://youtu.be/4H9p6nDqxNM) and countless prayer lines that have been set up, but we need more help. We just do.

We are a family of deep faith, and we will celebrate together when Teleka is found. Our hearts are broken, but we continue to search, we continue to hope and pray and love against odds that get tougher by the day. And we won’t stop no matter what. Please continue to pray, donate, and share her story with everyone in your network.

Thank you,

Mattahais & Irene Patrick

The Family of Missing doctor Teleka Patrick has come to Kalamazoo to help in the search.

They have reportedly hired a Private Investigator and spent the weekend putting up flyers in the area of Indiana where her car was found on the evening of December 5th, just hours after she was dropped off at the parking lot at Borgess Medical Center.

On the night she was last seen, Teleka Patrick tried to check in at the Radisson Plaza Hotel & Suites in downtown Kalamazoo, but eventually had to hitch a ride from a hotel courtesy van driver after she wasn’t able to get a room, investigators said Monday.

Those were among new details Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Pali Matyas released Monday, 11 days after Patrick, 30, a first-year medical resident in psychiatry at the WMU School of Medicine, was last seen heading to her gold 1997 Lexus ES300 in the parking lot of Borgess Medical Center on Gull Road.

SNIP

On Monday, Matyas said that when the bloodhound searched the area where Patrick’s car was found, the dog went “from the car right straight out to the road so the presumption is that someone picked her up and, at that point, it could have been anybody.”

SNIP

Matyas said Monday that investigators do not know why Patrick was trying to get a room at the Radisson. He also declined to say what time the courtesy van driver dropped Patrick off at the Borgess parking lot.

The parents of missing Kalamazoo medical resident Dr. Teleka Patrick appeared on the Nancy Grace show on Headline News network Wednesday night.

SNIP

Grace asked Mattahais and Irene why Teleka would need to check into a hotel room when she lives in an apartment complex in Kalamazoo.

"That is the question we are trying to find out," Mattahais said.

SNIP

"We have a special time where we talk on Sundays," Irene told Grace.

Mattahais said that normally Teleka would call her parents if she was leaving town.

"If she was going west, she would have called us and told us where she was going and to whom she was going to," he said.

(CNN) — Teleka Patrick had much to look forward to. The new doctor was months into her Michigan hospital residency, and she had plans to visit her parents in Florida for Christmas.

Then she failed to show for work this month, and her car was found abandoned in a ditch off a highway in neighboring Indiana. She was gone, along with her purse and keys, police say.

Patrick’s disappearance is a mystery to police, who’ve scoured the area to no avail, and to relatives.

SNIP

Patrick’s car ended up in a ditch about 30 to 40 feet off I-94, but didn’t crash, Indiana State Police Sgt. Rick Strong told CNN Thursday.

Investigators used dogs to track the driver.

“(The dogs) indicated that whoever was in that vehicle … tracked back to that roadway” roughly 30 feet from the car, Strong said.

The dogs sensed no trace after that.

“We have scoured, searched, and looked at everything we could possibly look at — all the exits, all the businesses, all the hotels,” Strong said. “We posted flyers, we talked to neighbors (who live near the highway). We did a full-blown on-the-ground search in the wooded area north of where the car was.”

“We looked everywhere” but have so far come up empty, he said.

Breaking details in the Teleka Patrick disappearance investigation emerge. Police have seized Dr. Patrick’s computers and are reviewing their content, according to her family members.

Investigators have also obtained warrants for the missing woman’s work and personal email accounts, a cousin told FOX 17. A warrant for her phone records is also being sought. Family members said there has been no activity on her bank accounts or credit cards. As previously reported, the family hired a private investigator.

Police have no new leads on her whereabouts, but the Michigan woman's parents believe her disappearance is related to a mysterious phone call she received Dec. 4.

Patrick received the call the day before she disappeared when she was attending a lecture for her residency at WMU School of Medicine, Patrick's mother told MLive. School officials told Patrick's family that someone saw Patrick's body language changed after the call ended.

"...Her demeanor changed, she dropped her head in her hand. That's all they told us," Irene Patrick told MLive.
