    MI - Dr. Teleka Patrick, 30, Kalamazoo, 5 Dec 2013 - #5

Please continue here. Pay attention to this post because it spells out rules that apply, in addition to our standard TOS, to this case in particular.

No speculating that Teleka has run off to meet some unsavory character or escaped convict.

No religious discussion unless it relates DIRECTLY to Teleka's disappearance.

The videos are linked here: Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community - View Single Post - MI MI - Dr. Teleka Patrick, 30, Kalamazoo, 5 Dec 2013 - #4

Please use this link and NOT private twitter accounts. Remember, if you link to a non-case player's account - you cannot discuss or sleuth that person, so just use the above link and play it safe. Also please note, that if for any reason LE pulls the videos, we will pull them also.

    Victim Friendly

Websleuths is a victim friendly forum. Attacking or bashing a victim is not allowed. Discussing victim behavior, good or bad is fine, but do so in a civl and constructive way and ONLY IF IT IS RELEVANT TO THE CASE. Additionally, sleuthing family members that are not suspect is not allowed. Don't make random accusations or post personal information (even if it is public) like parking tickets, address, or first and last names of all their relatives and their neighbors. Also, never "bash" or attack them, or accuse them of involvement. However that does not mean that family members cannot come into discussion as the facts and issues of the case are discussed.

    Social Networks

Regarding Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and other social networking or blog websites: Links may be used to direct posters to view something on a social networking page. But postings on social networking sites are not considered fact; they are rumor. Copying and pasting, or taking screen caps, directly from these pages is not allowed. Paraphrasing is okay. (Exception: If the Twitter or Facebook post belongs to a verified news station, it may be copied. But a link should still be provided.)

Also, social networking pages may only be linked if they are directly related to a case, i.e. the victim or suspect. We don't want to post to someone's mother, brother, employer, milkman, or postal carrier just because they know the main player. We also NEVER link to minor's pages (unless they are the victim). And be sure that the page actually belongs to the person being discussed. Do not link to someone if you are not 100% sure it is the correct person. And if a social networking is set to private and you get in the back way, you may not post what you find. Private means private! This includes closed social media accounts that can only be retrieved through cached pages

In reference to the multitude of user names, that isn't uncommon, espically in regard to the 35 and under crowd that have had the internet from their teen years forward. It is typically a normal behavior, though certainly some people have many user names for nefarious purposes (affairs, adult websites, different e-mail accounts for different purposes, etc.). Given Teleka's busy schedule, it is possible she relied on the internet for much social interaction. I wouldn't be at all surprised if she had a dozen+ user names. I also won't be surprised if they keep disappearing from google searches as they are uncovered.......

I took a long cruse once. They had church services on Sunday. All different church groups went. Including SDA. So my question wasn"t really far off if they gave her Sunday off to go to church.(People have to be flexible.)

Telling myself to step away from the whole social media thing even if relevant for a minute..

Regardless of all details leading up to the day she disappeared where could she be ?

Is she alive and off the grid but happy?
Is she fearful to resurface due to the publicity and possible judgement?
Is she scared of acceptance from family ?
    Did she harm herself?

What's missing for me is this possible relationship person. Granted we don't know if anyone has surfaced to LE.

So many options to contemplate on with no real clear answer.

I'm not convinced that she was met with foul play but I do realize it is an option.

I'm so sad for her family. I wish someone could join us to add insight and maybe connect the dots so we can be more effective. Clearly we all care a whole lot.

Hopefully the sleuth/poster that discovered the recent postings will notify LE. The new discoveries could open up a whole new avenue to search.
I dear friend went through a tough divorce after a 25 yr. marriage, she joined a dating website. Within a short period of time, guys were asking for 'help' depositing funds, etc. thankfully she didn't get swindled.

When I first heard about this case, I did not know what to think. When I saw the first 2 youtube videos, I immediately came to the conclusion that it was a net relationship gone bad. I will maintain that premise unless something drastically puts a twist on it.

I'd like to also mention that many dating sites include disclaimers that they are not responsible for doing background checks on anyone met in person from their sites. In addition, many porn ads and so on get hacked into dating sites. If someone wanted to prey on vulnerable folk, dating sites make good catches.

Just a side note: In the 'final' video (cooking) with the completed chicken, she says, "If you were here, this would be your plate".

As she sits down to eat/sing you can see she's also poured 'him' a few fingers of non-alcoholic beverage (it matches her beverage in color.)

ETA: In the omelette /veggie bacon vid: I'll just upload the video, and I know you can't eat it..I wish you could eat it....and we could be here together....

I don't usually share this, but when I was pregnant I had daily spouts of hearing voices, sounds, paranoia, hyper mania, and depression. I have been diagnosed bipolar in the past, but the pregnancy this time around (my second) brought out some terrible things. I did NOT think I was going to get better. After the baby was born, I had PPD but it all went away. I am not a mental Health Professional, but I wonder if something similar was happening to TP. JMO. I don't think she was mentally ill or "breaking." I think she genuinely felt threatened by a real entity.

OT: I'm surprised so many adults on this site are still struggling with biases and mental health stigma. It's an illness, just like heart disease or cancer. 1/2 of America has mental health issues in their life. Many conditions aren't visible, even to trainee doctors. They are very hide able and YOU CAN FUNCTION NORMAL with them! Not all are completely debilitating or render you completely out of touch. Please stop saying "crazy" "mental" "head case." Even delusional is kind of rude. A person suffering from delusions is much more correct. If you had cancer, I wouldn't say "he's cancery." Think before you speak and end the stigma.

    Side note 2:

Regarding "I'm really sorry for being late."

My teen daughter films/edits/uploads makeup & 'fashion' tutorials to her own (private) you tube channel (with a pseudonym screen name and both mom and dad as safety Nazis, er, I mean 'followers'). She has maybe 30 followers.

Anyway, she likes to always upload her videos weekly, on the same day per week at the same time. If she forgets to do it on 'time' (her self imposed deadline), she apologizes on the front end of the video for being late.

She has no arrangement with any of the followers. She's just sorry (to her adoring fans) for posting later than her self imposed deadline.

Teleka may have imposed *on herself* a schedule for uploading to youtube.
