Search Continues For Man Who Went Missing Over The Weekend

    MIDLAND -
Midland Police are still searching for a man who went missing over the weekend.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

I'm assuming that the image at the top of this link is his missing poster. It has a couple of photos on it and a good description of his clothes. He looks a lot different in these pictures than the ones the media has been using (check out Los2188's post). The photo on the left makes him look much older than the one on the right, and the ones on the link I attached. I Wonder which ones are more accurate.

But Thursday night, the family got a phone call they will never forget. Wurtz says Midland Police told them they are still unsure how he ended up there.

"It's very much a mystery, the police. I have not viewed it but they have the video of him leaving Wal-Mart, him walking out of Wal-Mart and walking out from that parking lot and honestly that is truly the only lead that we have," Wurtz said.

Right now, the cause of death is still unknown. However, the family is sure that Greg would never take his own life.

Police are not saying anything yet about cause of death pending an autopsy, but friends we spoke with say Gregory warned them that someone might do something bad to him days before his disappearance.

The body of 31-year-old former marine and oilfield worker Gregory Donaghe was discovered yesterday morning in a field west of the Petroleum Museum -- about a mile away from where he was last seen on the I-20 Wal-Mart camera. He was seen walking across the parking lot and then dissappeared. He was reported missing the following day.

"He warned a bunch of people that something might happen to him,” said one friend in Odessa. “The truth will come out.”

Police say Donaghe started walking west of Walmart, towards his apartment, just a few hundred yards away. But, police are still unsure just how Donaghe's body ended up past his apartment, 150-yards west of the Petroleum Museum.

According to a Facebook page created to help in finding Donaghe, Donaghe was a former marine and a father of three.

Higgins says police are not sure how long Donaghe's body had been out in the field for.
