CA - Santa Ana, LIVING HispFem, hit by car, Oct'13 - Martha Reyna

    http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/l...#axzz2pB684lpY

Police said the woman, known only as "Jane Doe," was struck by a passing car in October as she pushed a shopping cart through an intersection.
The article states her shopping cart appeared to contain her own belongings, and also that her fingerprints have been run through local and national databases with no results. She has been compared to missing persons in the Santa Ana area, again with no results.

This seems similar to a Mexican version of NAMUS for women and children. Just in case this woman is not originally from the US:

Her hair has been dyed in the past year?? (going by regrowth) I wonder if that means she access to a home with running hot water then, or even went to a hairdresser?

I opened her other eye, in case it helps make her more recognisable.

CA-Police Seek Public's Help in Identifying Mystery Woman Injured in Traffic Accident

    http://abcnews.go.com/US/santa-ana-c...ry?id=21398642

Police in Santa Ana, Calif., are asking for the public's help in identifying a "Jane Doe" crash victim who has been hospitalized since she was critically injured in a traffic collision nearly three months ago........

She has remained in the hospital, where police said she could not communicate and was still "fully dependent" on the care of the staff. ........

Anyone who recognizes her is asked to contact the Santa Ana Police Traffic Division at (714) 245-8214.

Police say no record found from her fingerprints and she does not match any known missing persons. Has video showing her but will try to find a picture to post.

The mystery woman was pushing a shopping cart across a busy Santa Ana intersection on Oct. 15 when police said she was struck by a car.
Sounds like she might have been homeless. She may not even be from CA.

In the pic, her eyebrow growth has grown in and roots are showing in the hair. She wasn't an unkempt woman.

Her hair also looks like it has been cut and layered not long ago.

A person can't do layering themselves. Or at least, I can't. Last time I tried I had to go to a hairdresser and get a crew cut after, it was such a disaster. It's not particularly cheap to get hair professionally cut and colored in CA, I guess?

I use this finger painting app! Hard to get used to, but once you do, it's great. You can import any photo and just paint on top of it.

Promising news in this article: She is recovering and talking! She has told hospital staff her name is Martha and given them several different street names where she believed her apartment is.

    http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2014/...egins-to-talk/

Martha also said she has two sons and her birthday is Feb. 24, 1959. In addition, she has mentioned the last name Herrera.
And zwiebel was right -- the nurses said her hair was dyed.

Prayers are going out for her continued recovery and identification.
