    GA - Mason Cox, 20, & David Wood, 20, Dawsonville, 2 Jan 2014

Two young men are missing in my area. The temps were in the teens last night with heavy winds and possible ice/snow depending on where they were in Dawson County. Praying they are found safe.

Dawson Sheriff's spokesman Tony Wooten says the two 20-year-olds went fishing Thursday around 3:30 a.m.

Additional information: Mason Cox and David Wood were reported missing by their parents on Jan. 2. The young men were last seen in the Fredericks Cove area off of Ga. 400.

Even though the article details in your link are confusing to say the least, it sounds like they may have made it back from fishing and then left again.
If their car hasn't been found and there was so much black ice forecast in that area, I wonder if they went off the road somewhere?

Does anyone have a map of that area? if they went off the road, are there are any curves with drop offs that they may have ended up in? If they are smart and not injured I hope they would have stayed with the car.

I have never been able to post a map correctly.
I do have this link and I will check to see if it works.
As you can see, there are two Frederick's Cove roads almost side by side which butt up to Lake Lanier off of 400.

ETA The link works. Now how to make the map show up in my post?

What are those medal looking things to the left on the map? Also is this a very wooded area?

Press conference at 4 pm today. That's in about 30 minutes.

As a mother of a 20-something son, stories like this always hit home for me.
Please be aware that what I type is my opinion.

Do you mean the rectangular objects? Those are chicken houses.

Hwy 400 is a 4-lane highway with a grass median and extends from Lumpkin County all the way south to almost downtown Atlanta. This area is the north end. To the right is Lake Lanier, a very popular recreation destination with lots of boating and fishing. The homes are large but the lots still tend to be wooded.

To the left (on your map) is Dawson/Lumpkin Counties which are two rural areas and yes, there are mountainous, curvy roads.

MSM articles are conflicting about whether they really went fishing or not. I'm monitoring the Dawson County Sheriff's FB page for updates https://www.facebook.com/dawson.co.sheriff
