Although the UID is white, the curly black hair and circumstances suggest Ashok should be looked at as a possible match.

I absolutely agree, kpdx. Particularly given that parts of Ashok's wife's body were found in different rivers and this body was missing its hands.

I wonder if Matthew Paul Garnes has been checked?

I don't think this is Alain Malessard, just for reference. I'm pretty confused as to why he is still even listed in the NamUs database, because I'm positive he was confirmed to be located and identified the same year he vanished in 1987, and hasn't been missing for over thirty years.

Since the river flows North to South this UID could have come down from Washington State, is it possible he was in the water long enough to have come from B.C. Canada?
