Circumstances:
Eeva had been staying at her father's residence in Pottsville for 2 weeks and was due to return to her mother’s care on Saturday 11th January 2014 - Greg (with Eeva) sent a text to say they were on their way to meet with her mother, but the two never arrived.

Features: Eeva is described as having long blonde hair, blue eyes and of a thin build
Wearing: She was last seen wearing an oversized blue and white shirt and multi-coloured shorts.

Features: Greg has a thin build and about 175 centimetres tall (5ft 9inchs) with short, brown, curly hair.
Wearing: Greg had on a black shirt and grey pants.
Other: Greg was carrying a black backpack.

NSW Police search launched after father, daughter go missing at Pottsville
Police say they have serious concerns for the welfare of a Queensland girl and her father, who are missing on the far north coast of New South Wales.
Four-year-old Eeva Dorendahl mostly lives with her mother at Kin Kin in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
She had been staying with her father Greg Hutchings at Pottsville.
On Saturday, they set off for a walk to meet her mother but never showed up.

Police and volunteers have spent the day searching dunes and bushland on the NSW far north coast for a father and daughter missing since Saturday.
This morning, 20 State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers conducted a ground search of an area near the beach at Pottsville where the pair were last seen at about 12:30pm on the 11th January.
New South Wales Police Inspector Greg Jago says investigators wanted to eliminate the possibility the pair were camping there.
Mr Hutchings did not have access to a car, so police are concerned they have been injured or worse.
Police from Queensland have also joined the search for the pair.

Water police are set to search waterways in the small town of Pottsville on Tuesday for Greg Hutchings, 35, and his daughter Eeva Dorendahl.
Tweed Police Inspector Darren Steel told AAP marine local area command police would search waterways on Tuesday.
Insp Steel did not believe Mr Hutchings had posed any threats of harm to his daughter.
Asked if custody issues could be a factor, Insp Steel said police would be trying to ascertain whether there might be any "underlying" reason involved in the disappearance.
"We are not sure at this stage and are still making inquiries as to how they have gone missing," he said.
"She is a four-year-old child, it's a very hot day ... and she has been away from a home for a number of days," Tweed Heads Police Inspector Greg Jago told Seven Network on Monday.

HELICOPTERS, jetskis and volunteers have scoured Pottsville in northern NSW in a fruitless attempt to find a missing father and daughter.
Greg Hutchings, 35, and his four-year-old daughter Eeva were last seen on Saturday with his accounts going untouched and phone switched off since the disappearance.
Tweed Heads Inspector Gary Cowan said bush land, water canals and camp sites were being searched.
He said buses, trains and airports had also been checked.
"The first thing I'd like is for him to contact the nearest police station so that Eeva can actually be sighted by police and we can ensure that she is safe and well," Inspector Greg Jago said.

Inspector Cowan says efforts to track Mr Hutchings electronically have been unsuccessful.
"There's been no money withdrawn from any accounts and also with the phone, the phone is switched off so we can't do any triangulation with the phone either," he said.
He says there have been no other sightings since Saturday.
"We're going to check all the beach areas and we'll do the creeks and rivers in the nearby areas," he said.
"We've got our area command on jet skis. We've also got the assistance of Qld Pol air that will come down and do a sweep of the beach with us.

Inspector Gary Cowan , of Tweed Police, is worried that there has been no sightings of the pair by local residents.
He urges anyone with information to come forward.
"If it is a case where somebody might know where these people are and they are worried about confidentiality they can ring Crime Stoppers and just let us know any information that they can," said Inspector Gary Cowan.
"Any information that is given to us will be treated carefully,".
"Police are just trying all avenues because we are not sure at the moment where we are going with this case," he said.

Grandmother claims missing four-year-old Eeva Dorendahl's mum was set to take her to Finland
Aunt of toddler Eeva Dorendhal and sister of Gary Hutchings, Sheri Hutchings, said she feels the pair are safe.
"We all know how much Greg loves Eeva, if she's with him, she's safe," she said.
"He would make sure she's comfortable."
She said she initially believed Greg, who she said had been involved in a "power struggle" with Eeva's mother Michelle Dorendhal, had made a last minute decision to not return Eeva.
She said her brother was a beautiful father with a nurturing personality.

Ms Hutchings told The Gold Coast Bulletin today she believed Eeva would be safe if she was with dad Greg, who has been embroiled in a custody battle with the mother of the child.
It comes as police scaled back a search of bushland near the Pottsville unit Ms Hutchings shared with her son on the fifth day of an investigation into the pair's disappearance.
Ms Hutchings said Eeva had drawn the picture recently after becoming fascinated with an old photo of her father.
Insp Cowan said police were still hoping to find the pair alive.

Police release new image of missing father - Pottsville

Police have released a new image of missing father Greg Hutchings and continue appeal for assistance to locate both him and his daughter, who were last seen in Pottsville on the weekend.

Greg Hutchings, aged 35, and his four-year-old daughter, Eeva Dorendahl, were last seen on Pottsville Road about 12.30pm, Saturday 11 January 2014.
The pair was due to meet with family in Pottsville around midday, but did not arrive at the location.
Officers attached to Tweed Byron Local Area Command were called and launched an investigation into the incident.

Strike Force Beadle has been established in order to investigate the disappearance; inquiries lead investigators to two possible areas that father and daughter may be: Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, and Mullumbimby near Byron Bay.
Police are appealing for members of these communities to keep a look out for Greg and his daughter and to contact Crime Stoppers if sighted.
There have been no confirmed sightings of the pair.
Greg is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, with short brown curly hair and of a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, grey trousers and carrying a black back pack.
Eeva is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with long blonde hair, blue eyes and of a thin build. She was last seen wearing an oversized blue and white-coloured shirt and multicoloured board shorts.

Saturday-Sunday: Greg Hutchings was due to hand his daughter over to her Sunshine Coast based mother on Saturday at Pottsville. He texted to his former partner to say they were on their way, the pair failed to show. The mother raised the alarm soon after. Mr Hutchings and his daughter had just enjoyed a two-week visit together. The pair were last seen on Pottsville Rd about 12.30pm on Saturday. It is believed the pair do not have access to a car.

Monday: Twenty SES volunteers searched bushland between Efran Ave and James Ambrose Brown Park near where the pair were last seen, and a creek at Overall Dr. Police held a press conference to appeal for information. Police also checked airlines and bus companies.

Tuesday: No trace was found of the pair despite extensive land, water and air searches which had included surf life saver club members. A police chopper, known as Polair, also joined the search. A suspected sighting of the pair at Nambucca Heads and then Coffs Harbour turned out to be two false alarms.

Wednesday: Eeva's mother denies claims she was planning to move her daughter to her native Finland. Greg's mother told media her son had been depressed. Police establish Strikeforce Beadle to investigate the disappearance. They have a huge volume of info supplied by the public to check. The search continues without any success.

Thursday: Police spend the day coming through an influx of tip-offs from the public. The physical search is called off as all efforts focus on the tip-offs. Mr Hutchings mother tells media police may now be searching for bodies.

Friday: Strike Force Beadle detectives focus on tip-offs Mr Hutchings may be in his former home of the Blue Mountains or at Mullumbimby. There has still been no confirmed sightings of the pair.

Mum of missing Pottsville man on ‘setting record straight’
She said her son and Michelle were not involved in a "custody" battle, but that he was trying to prevent an international abduction.
She accused Michelle of a breach of Court Parenting Orders and said there was much evidence to suggest she was planning to take Eeva to Finland permanently, "where she has inherited property and vehicle, and went to uni".
Michelle has previously rejected this claim.
Ms Hutchings maintains she does not know where her son is.
"I can only hope he has taken her and keeping her safe, in Australia, but I don't see how that's possible," she said.
"A total mystery to all who know him.
"We want Greg Hutchings and Eeva Dorendahl-Hutchings found ASAP.

The mother of a man missing with his four-year-old daughter on the NSW north coast for more than a week says her family is not hiding the pair and their disappearance is a mystery.
His mother, Diana Hutchings, said police have searched her home, seizing computers and other items.
''Police were saying someone in the family had to be helping him out, hiding him,'' Ms Hutchings said.
She concedes that since her son does not have access to a car, someone probably helped him and Eeva leave the area, but insists it was not her or her family.

12.20PM: Police searching for a missing father and daughter at Pottsville have confirmed they have located two bodies.
Police began a search with SES about 8.30 this morning and an SES volunteer located the bodies in dense bushland at the Pottsville sand hills just before 10am.
The bodies are yet to be formally identified.
Police will address the media in Pottsville at 2pm local time.

10.45AM: A crime scene has been established on a northern New South Wales beach as police confirm there have been developments in the case of a missing local man and his daughter.
Greg Hutchings, 35, and his four-year-old daughter Eeva have been missing from Pottsville since January 11 after failing to meet up with family at a local park.
Police are guarding a scene on the beach at Pottsville and a press conference is scheduled to begin soon.

Just before 10am, two bodies were located by an SES volunteer in dense bushland at the Pottsville sand hills.
A crime scene has been established and forensic investigators are at the location.

Police have found two bodies in bushland at Pottsville as they search for a missing father and daughter
12.55PM: The mother and sister of missing man Greg Hutchings have visited a Pottsville beach which was earlier declared a crime scene as police confirm two bodies have been found in the area.
The pair have been missing since January 11 after failing to meet up with family at a local park.
Mr Hutchings' mother, Diana Hutchings, and sister Sheri Hutchings this afternoon held hands and sat close to a spot on the beach which earlier had crime scene tape over it.

Police investigate possible murder-suicide

UPDATE 2.24pm: TWO crimes scenes have been established at Pottsville after this morning's discovery of two bodies police believe were those of Greg Hutchings and his daughter Eeva Dorendahl-Hutchings.
The pair had been missing for 17 days.
The first crime scene was established at the site at which the bodies were found, the second is at a location at which clothing was found.
Police have told the family who are understood to be devastated.
Police said they were hoping for a different outcome.

Murder probe after bodies found in NSW
Tweed Heads Detective Superintendent Stuart Wilkins said the search had turned to sand dunes north of Pottsville on Tuesday after police received specific information last week.
"We are unable at this time to identify those bodies but it is certainly possible that they are our missing persons."
Supt Wilkins told News Corp Australia it was a murder investigation but the cause of death would be a matter for the coroner.
Mr Hutchings' grieving mother, Diana, said that Eeva was a beautiful girl and her son was a beautiful man.

Greg Hutchings left for swim with daughter Eeva, then never came home
When Greg Hutchings left his mother's home on the NSW north coast with his four-year-old daughter just over a fortnight ago, he kissed his mother goodbye and said he would be back in a couple of hours.
There was no indication of the devastation that was to come.
He said he would be back just after 1pm. But concerns were first raised when Eeva's mother turned up at Mrs Hutchings' house, asking for him.
Police did not believe the pair, who had no access to a car, could have travelled far but their search included the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, where Mr Hutchings had previously lived.

Heartbreak in the dunes as Greg Hutchings and Eeva Dorendahl found dead
GREG Hutchings had come to think of the idyllic stretch of white sand a 30-minute walk from his modest Pottsville unit as his hide-away from the world.
And it was here, under a giant Pandanus tree metres from the beach and only accessible by foot across a sandy track littered with rocks, that two bodies believed to be his and that of his four-year-old daughter Eeva were found yesterday.
Hundreds of surfers, fishermen and swimmers potentially wandered past the spot in the 18 days since the 35-year-old and Eeva were reported missing as tourists flocked to the northern NSW coast, filling up all four caravan parks between Pottsville and *Cabarita.
"They were under a tree and very difficult to find, we were quite lucky to spot them," Det Supt Wilkins said.
News of the discovery spread quickly through the close-knit community of Pottsville.

When he did not show up, the alarm was raised.

Police investigating how Eeva Dorendahl-Hutchings died after bodies found on beach
POLICE are investigating whether drowning or poisoning could have killed four-year-old Eeva Dorendahl-Hutchings after no weapons were found at the crime scene on Pottsville Beach.
Officers seized items from the scene but it's believed no guns, knives or rope were found near her body which was discovered on Tuesday under a pandanus tree alongside her dad Greg Hutchings.

The distraught Pottsville grandmother is urging police and the community to keep an open mind to third-party involvement after two bodies were found on Tuesday, believed to be her son Greg Hutchings, 35, and his tiny, blonde-haired daughter Eeva.
Her desperate plea comes as the close-knit Pottsville community paints a picture of Mr Hutchings as a kind but almost reclusive man rarely spotted during his six months or so in the sleepy beach-side town.
Ms Hutchings said yesterday it was too soon for her to reflect upon the lives of her son and granddaughter, but she hoped police and the community were looking at the case objectively.
"I don't believe it was a suicide-murder ... none of us can imagine him doing anything to harm this child," she said.
"Two people have passed away and I think they deserve an investigation of the truth.
"The community deserves an investigation of the truth. I know the community wants answers, we want answers."

Police suspect a murder-suicide.
