Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

So little information Hope he is safe.

He also has connections to the Annapolis Valley: Const. Pierre Bourdages confirmed Doucette once lived in Ellershouse, Hants County, and has relatives in Kentville, Kings County.

Police say there is no information to suggest that Doucette has met with foul play; however, police are concerned for his well-being.

Rest in peace Tori, Tim and Jeremy.

Thank you isn't enough los2188, I asked someone to start this thread for me when I first saw the news and obviously should have just asked you!

I'm local to the area if you have any questions about the region. I don't know Dave personally though we share mutual friends. He is an active member of Abandoned NS so he could be hiking just about anywhere.

    Killed in accident yesterday

Police say the 44-year-old Dartmouth man who died after he was struck by a transport truck while on Highway 102 near the Kelly Lake scales was reported missing last week.

The RCMP say the accident happened at 5:49 p.m. Feb. 2, as David Allen Doucette was struck by a tractor trailer travelling outbound.

    snipped from above article:

All I can confirm he was on the highway at the time,” said RCMP spokeswoman Const. Tammy Lobb.

She confirmed the man was struck on the highway, not the shoulder of the road.

Lobb also wasn’t sure which of the three lanes on the six-lane highway he was hit in.
To me it sounds like he was walking on the highway and not driving? Here's a link to a webcam of the highway near the accident scene:

What in the world was he doing there on foot?

ETA: This article says he was standing in the road before he was hit.

It appears that he left his vehicle nearby, and was standing on the highway:

David Allen Doucette, 44, of Dartmouth died at the scene when a tractor-trailer hit him as he was standing on Highway 102 near the Kelly Lake scales at 5:50 p.m. Sunday.
The advisory said Doucette drove a green Jeep Compass. The Jeep was found near the scene Sunday night.

Court records indicate that Doucette was facing charges of sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching and sexual touching involving a person under the age of 16. The charges stemmed from incidents alleged to have occurred in Ellershouse, Hants County, between Feb. 1, 2008 and May 23, 2011.

Doucette was scheduled to appear in Windsor Provincial Court on the charges on Jan. 28 but the accused was not present.
