He was driving a marked brown Greensville County Sheriff’s Office cruiser, a 2006 Crown Victoria with a local Virginia license plate, number 110359L). Harrison said the vehicle has yellow reflective markings on both sides and a lightbar on top. It’s missing the front right wheel cover.

He is 6"8!!! Wow he would stand out and he would be REALLY hard to overpower.
Locals, is there any water he could have driven into on the way to the call?
It would probably help if they released where he left from and where he was going.
Then people would know to look in that area and report any LE car sightings in that area.

We had a cop here that was shot, then crashed into a tree.
If he had instead crashed into water, it may have been much harder to find him.

2 other cops here were just shot while still in their vehicles yesterday (one driving, one parked.)

Is there anywhere there that someone could easily dispose of a car?
Or did it pretty much have to be concealed in a building or driven out of the area?

Our marked law enforcement cars have GPS in them...
So that if an officer doesn't respond they can find their exact location.
This comes in very handy when an officer is shot and can't call for help.
I am assuming that this department does not have GPS on their cars?

I'm a little surprised it took so long to broadcast it (9 hours I believe.)
It looks like some people are mad about that.

"He's not the type of guy you are going to want to push over or anything like that," said the family friend. "If they would have contacted media right after they sent the BOLO It could have made the Five O'clock news. He could be at home with his girlfriend right now."

"We have heard reports that perhaps his vehicle was found." We mentioned to Deputy Mattox. "Can you confirm?

"We are not sure," replied Mattox. "We don't know. I do not know."

Map of the Sheriff's Department to the two gas stations he was possibly seen at.
I can see why they aren't sure which gas station, they are right next to each other.

I don't see a lot of obvious water aside from a bridge you cross between the two towns on the freeway.
There is also a pond or other small body of water on the side of the road a couple times along the way.

Both of those are BETWEEN the police department and gas stations though...
So if he went the other way they are not relevant.
Since we don't know where he was going from the gas stations, it's hard to judge.

There is A LOT of trees though... I wonder if those are as hard to see in as they look like they are.

And what about his phone? Is that not pinging or have GPS either?

How strange. He has got to be in water or in trees somewhere considering his squad is also missing. Everything about him stands out. He'd be hard to miss. As the wife of a cop who was once a former deputy, the only other thing I could possibly think of is if its a very rural county and someone was out to get him due to a prior contact. Its possible that his squad is sitting in a garage/she'd/barn somewhere and who knows where he is. That was alway something that was a concern of mine since there were nights where my husbands closest back up (in the same county) was an hour away IF they weren't on a call.

I don't know what else to think.

Depending on the terrain and where he is, maybe it doesn't work? The place my husband works there are places where they can't get good signals. Not sure about if they can get a Ping on a cell or a GPS signal but if anything bounces off of a cell signal, it cuts in and out a lot in certain spots.
