If the accused SB from Fairview, AB is the same person I'm seeing online .. his internet presence seems to consist of mostly video gaming and youtube videos.

I noticed this as well and I find it a little strange. If you type his name into Google image search his photo will come up. It's the first one but when I clicked on it it brought me to his fb profile pic. Also wondering on Alberta police report what they mean by high risk lifestyle ?

High risk lifestyle typically is an indication the victim was involved in the sex trade and/or drug-addicted and/or homeless. Here's a snippet from a Q&A with the spokesperson for the RCMP's Project KARE task force that exists in Alberta wrt the missing/murdered women of Edmonton (not that Courtney is included in KARE's caseload, but to give you an idea of how the RCMP view high-risk)

Q: What is a high-risk lifestyle?

A: In cases that fall under Project Kare's mandate, the victims are usually involved in the sex trade, have drug addictions or are homeless.

From my own sleuthing into various cases over the years (Pickton victims, KARE cases in and around Edmonton, and Highway of Tears), hitch-hiking is also categorized as a high-risk behaviour.

By contrast, a stay-at-home mom who disappears on her way to the post office, etc would not be considered living a high-risk lifestyle.

At the link below, a nicer pic of Courtney in what appears to have been better, happier days for this young lady:

RCMP were searching the Aquatera Waste Management site in Grande Prairie for Johnstone's remains.

Discarded like garbage in a landfill? If that's the case, just doubly, doubly sad

Whatever life tossed at you, whatever path you travelled, and whatever happened, you sure didn't deserve this Courtney.

May you Rest in Peace !!

Still rummaging to find something/anything on Babitsch's April 30 appearance.

In the meantime, found this for May 26:

Two cases are expected to continue in Grande Prairie court today.

Shane Gregory Babitsch has an appearance to answer to a charge of first degree murder. Police laid the charge against him in mid-February after the disappearance of Courtney Johnstone. Her body was found in the Aquatera landfill a few days after Babitsch was arrested.

Monday in provincial court, Shane Gregory Babitsch appeared via closed circuit television from Edmonton Remand Centre. Crown and defence counsel selected June 16 for Babitsch’s next appearance, during which a date will be set for a preliminary inquiry.

In the meantime, a pre-trial conference will be held to decide who out of a possible 17 crown witnesses, are needed at the preliminary.
