Large open space behind the house ..... Guy who spoke about leasing their retail property sure had no qualms about speaking ill of the dead. http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2014/...an-capistrano/

The names of the deceased are Andra and Brad Sachs. I started researching who these people were and found some information which points to a number of people who were/are very unhappy with them. They founded Flashcom, Inc, Plug-In, and Jungle Motors and were landlords. Andra ref'd herself as the Jungle Queen and Queen Andra.
I'm not speculating or drawing conclusions but just Google them and you can readily find information about them and some of the issues they had.
Oddly, this article (http://sanjuancapistrano.patch.com/g...op-tax-avoider) says Andra's "divorce from Bradford was finalized in Orange County Superior Court in 2010" but it certainly sounds like they were currently living together. Perhaps the divorce was some sort of financial finagling when their businesses were in trouble.

Owned a lot of businesses, JMO.
Past (maybe current too?) issues with back taxes...
LE will most likely have a number of suspects, unhappy ex business partners, renters, etc. Years of issues. Perhaps they upset the wrong person/people this time. Whomever did this had no issues with hurting a child either. this is why I wondered if it was a murder/suicide or another family member. We will have to wait for more details.
My husband and I had a brief discussion today about how people who own the 10 million+ mansions in South OC manage to afford all of it and the life. We both wondered how many of those people get their millions ripping off others. I'm not going to judge the Sachses, but reading what I have so far, they didn't seem to have an honest track record. JMO of course.
Looks like the house is valued at $3.5 mil.

From the rip-off report
>> More importantly, I can sit on the second deck of my house and enjoy the ocean knowing I have peace of mind, while you hide behind your gated home with a dog patrolling the yard because you have screwed so many people over. You need to come to the understanding that you may be getting away treating people like substandard peasants, but the day will come that you too will die and be buried in the same ground with those peasants, but the difference is that you will have to answer to God for the evil black hearted witch that you are. Karma is a b*tch, and looking at the atrocities that have occurred in your life, you're reaping exactly what you have sewn, and many people will be standing in line to see your final descent into hell where your eternal suffering will be a microcosm of the suffering you have caused others. Now go have a drink and commence shouting at the top of your lungs like you do nightly!

So, according to this article, the male taken to the hospital was age 8. There were two teenage daughters in the residence and it's believed it was one of them that called LE. The girls were not hurt.
Couple killed in San Juan Capistrano home were tech-firm partners
Brad and Andra Sachs, divorced in 2000 but still living together, have been identified by family and neighbors as the man and woman found dead Sunday.
Detectives don’t know if the attack was random or if someone targeted the couple, but Hallock said the incident is believed to be isolated.
Now investigators are looking into the couple’s past, including business dealings and relationships that could shed light on the crime.
“We’re looking at everything,” Hallock said.
Among the recent troubles for the couple was a flurry of lawsuits involving a series of tech- and auto-related limited liability companies they owned.

I just watched the local news here on NBC. They said one gun was used and the killer was familiar with the house…had definitely been inside before. Also said one of the teenage girls at home was shot at but missed. Also that there were six liens against the couple. Interviewed another commercial tenant who said he didn't care that they were dead. This video report is not online yet. When it shows up I will post the link.
Just watched on KTLA (live report) and from that and what's reported above, it's certainly starting to look like a very personal, targeted hit.
@Snowden I agree re: OC money/big houses and dirty dealings. Even a couple of the Real Housewives had the nerve to be on a "reality" show with very dubious financial misdeeds in their pasts.
IMO ONLY I'm wondering about money laundering or a Ponzi scheme and they pissed off the wrong person/investor. Not so much the rental properties but the tech companies and liabilities ping my hinky meter. JMO of course.
Whatever the truth, involving the children is horrendous and I hope the Sheriffs can find who did this asap.
Officially named by LE.
VERY interesting comment in the article itself. Refers to different names used by the Sachs' on checks. Of course, not verified by LE, just a comment to the reporter.
SanJuanMom I'm sorry. It must be so very scary and upsetting to have this happen so close to home

There isn't anywhere completely safe. No matter what security measures we put in place, if someone really wants to get in, they will.
Some questions I have:
If this was a professional hit man, cartel or mafia, wouldn't they ensured that there were no survivors?
Was the home's security armed? Due to the ongoing issues this couple faced, one would think that their home would be armed during the middle of the night.
The daughter called 911. Generally, if a home is armed and someone breaks in, the the security company contacts the owners and then authorities. So, was it on, or was it disarmed? If the former, why? If the later, how and by whom?
NBC said on 11:00 news it is believed a silencer was used as none of the neighbors heard anything...not even dogs barking. They believe killer could have accessed the property from the backyard. Apparently the couple was known to leave windows open and doors unlocked. Also due to the number of shots fired, and targeting the children the reporter said the killer was very angry. Sounds more and more like a revenge killing.
