    Michele Savoia

Police Searching For Missing NYC Fashion Designer -

    NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) —
A celebrity designer from New York City has gone missing. Michele Savoia, of the House of Savoia, was last seen early Thursday morning inside Marquee, a club on Tenth Avenue in Manhattan, 1010 WINS reported. The 55-year-old Chelsea resident was featured on CBS 2 just last month in a story about high-end pawn shops.

I have to admit....I have no idea who this person is, but as my grandma once told me, nothing good after midnight (assuming it was after midnight) out and about happens. I really don't like the sound of this case. The first thing I think about when reading this is the case of the millionaire Jewish landlord in New York that was abducted. It did not turn out well needless to say.

Michele Savoia, 55, also known as Savoia the Tailor, was last seen leaving Marquee New York on 10th Ave. at about 4 a.m. on Thursday, the same day Fashion Week ended.

Savoia’s driver reported him missing, according to a police source who said detectives do not suspect foul play at this time.

“Right now he is listed as missing and we are looking for him,” one police source said.

interestingly enough ... he had some issues with 'greedy' landlords in 2012 and was forced to move storefronts

Catalfumo said Savoia was mugged “and took a terrible beating” when he moved to the Lower East Side a few years ago.

“Maybe something like that has happened to him again,” Catalfumo said. “Maybe someone took his fancy clothes and fancy jewelry and he’s in some hospital.”

Savoia, also known as “The Tailor,” was seen on surveillance video leaving the club alone at around 4 a.m., CBS 2′s Don Champion reported. No one has heard from him since.

Savoia explained how he used his motorcycle as collateral so he could buy a boat, which he now lives in.

This area of Chelsea is very populated with nightclubs and bars and is notorious for criminal activity during the early morning.hours. There are a lot muggings, fights, drug activity. There are a lot of high end clubs so patrons coming out late are ready targets because they're presumably drunk/high, have money or at the least give off the impression they have money. There are always fights as the clubs are letting out due to your typical drunken behavior that occurs between people.
There are also several gay clubs and living in the city I hear about assaults on gay party-goers on the news quite often.
From what I've seen/read Savoia was quite flamboyant and could have targeted for robbery or for being mistakenly identified as being gay (according to a few of the articles he had a girlfriend).

So if he had a boat docked at Chelsea Pier, he isn't too far from home based on where he was last seen. Though at 4am, you never know.

I wonder if he usually walked to his houseboat? He had a driver, did he try calling him for a ride. I think his cell phone ping will be a big clue.

I hope they are checking surveillance cameras in the area.

    Praying he is safe.

Quote from article is the closest info I can find:
"Savoia, 55, lives on a yacht off 12th Avenue, less than a half mile from Marquee nightclub on 10th Avenue between West 26th and 27th Streets."
