Arrested here in North Carolina-precious few details.
Carrie Menard, 27 wanted on welfare fraud charges, was taken into custody in Monroe, NC and is being extradited for the murder of Amie Riley.

MANCHESTER Furious that Amie Lynn Riley had flirted with her boyfriend, Carrie Menard spent almost a half-hour killing her -- hitting Riley in the head with a hammer, jumping on her chest and then holding her under water.

The former Derry resident pleaded guilty yesterday in Hillsborough County Superior Court to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 30 years to life in New Hampshire State Prison for the brutal killing of the 20-year-old former Chester resident on Aug. 16, 2003.
