Police search for missing toddler in Camden

[snip]

Investigators said Myra's mother left to go to a grocery store, and she told Myra and her sisters to go inside and wash their hands. The mother said she saw the children go in the door to the house.

Officials said Myra's father was inside taking care of a newborn baby.

That was the last time Myra was seen.

Amber Alert Expected for Myra Lewis, 2, of Madison Co.

An Amber Alert is expected for the alleged abduction of a missing two-year-old girl, a spokesperson for the Madison County Sheriff's Department said Sunday.

Myra Lewis was last seen Saturday morning just after 11:00 at her family's home in Camden wearing a turquoise shirt, white pants and pink tennis shoes.

Search crews focused on the area of Mount Pilgrim Road on Saturday and covered four square miles and found nothing.

There's a little button near the top on the left side of the forum page (where all the threads are listed) that says New Thread. Just click that and away you go! (You might not have enough posts yet to start threads. Not sure what that number is.)

oh no, so praying she is found safe, what is the weather around there

Sooooo...... dad was in the house but did not see her when she went in as mom said? And why did the search not start until 4pm? Surely mom was not buying groceries for 5+ hours, right?

So little information of substance....

surely dad didn't assume she was with mom, and mom assume she was with dad...?

that is quite possible floridamom, it has happened before, one thing i noted though was they are expecting an amber alert which normally means a vehicle no>

Are their any old wells or water features around? Or old appliances she could have climbed in?

Here I go again.... Sounds hinky to me... (yes,k as usual. :) )
I don't understand how parents don't walk their children inside... was going to the store an emergency?
I pray this beautiful little girl is found safe...soon!

Didn't the sisters notice their little sister was not with the group?

Looks like there was 1 sister outside with Myra.

None of the other children are missing, and authorities have not released information about the father.

2 year olds can get away so quickly. I wonder if Myra saw a pet and followed it ? Or saw other kids and walked off? Im not getting why the dad or other sister didn't immediately wonder where she was?

I wonder if the man in the house is her father.

those colors would stand out

What am I missing?
This toddler disappeared Saturday at approx. 11am and there was no Amber Alert!
Has there been a search planned yet? ACK....this scares me to death.

my google earth is not working. can someone show a map of 560 pilgrim rd camden ms 39045. I would like to get a street view of this area. Thanks

I hope a search with scent dogs was done. A little one that age and that small can easily climb into car trunks, tossed out fridges, large plastic bins, etc.

Wonder if the dad was asleep holding the new baby and didn't really know what was going on? kwim....
