LA - Hayley Howard, 19, New Orleans, 1 Mar 2014

    Hayley Howard

NOPD searching for a 19-year-old missing woman -

    New Orleans --
NOPD needs your help in locating a 19-year-old missing woman.
Hayley Howard was last seen driving away from the parking lot of 2000 Lakeshore Dr. at the UNO Lakefront Campus around 1:50 a.m. Saturday. Her family has not seen or heard from her since her disappearance. Police say that her cell phone pinged in the area of Leon C. Simon about 2:00 a.m. Saturday, and near the Irish Bayou around 6:00 Saturday morning.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I've attached a Google Map to show the areas where Hayley was seen last and where her phone pinged.
It's only a 20 minute or so drive between the two ping spots (Leon C Simon and Irish Bayou). Worried that she has had an accident in her car followng the 2am ping.

I just got back from New Orleans for Mardi Gras. The most popular night was last night. I'm wondering if she went out partying for the weekend and might have lost her phone or had it stolen and the ping was when it was in the hands of another?

The streets are packed during this time. You can barely walk. It would not be hard to lose your phone or have it pick pocketed in that crowd especially if you have been drinking. It was our first trip down there for Mardi Gras. We had to walk about 2 miles from our hotel to get a cab to take us to the airport as no cars can get through.

Wish we knew what her destination was to. Was she planning on heading out across the lake?

ETA: I just read that she was going planning to go across the lake to Slidell. I wonder if she talked to her friends before or after her tire was taken care of.

NOPD searching for a 19-year-old missing woman -

Police say 19-year-old Haley Howard was last seen leaving the UNO campus at around 2 a.m. Saturday. They believe she was intoxicated. A friend told deputies she stopped for a flat tire on her way home to Slidell and a passing motorist helped her.

Passing motorist stopped to help her? Oh, geezzz...
Irish Bayou is such an isolated stretch with many abandoned exits, swampy and desolate. Prayers for Hayley.
Initally, I thought, one car accident. But now seeing that she had a flat and someone stopped to help her. This is the worst place for a anyone to be out alone and at a stranger's mercy.

Im just realizing her phone was there at 6am when she left at 2am!!!! What????? Maybe we need some ping info from 2am until 6am! That would be helpful! Was there a detour to the quarter or another bar? Or was the ping stationary from 230am until 6am?

Does she have a Facebook account? I wasn't able to find one.

And the admins of the page say her phone was "used" for 4 mins at 6am. Not pinged. If I can't write that, just delete, but its on the search page on FB.

This article gives more details and photos...placing the Irish Bayou Cell Tower south of her intended route back to Slidell, LA. Wonder if her friend knows where she was when she had the flat tire?

There's only one registered cell tower in NOLA, and it's in Irish Bayou. I think you'd ping that tower while crossing the lake.

ETA: Hi, nola. Looks like we were simul-posting

So, yes, just where did she have the flat tire? Does the friend know? That information would be helpful.

ETA2: Why did these so-called friends allow her to drive home alone, to Slidell no less, if they knew she was intoxicated?

The FB page says she was about two blocks from UNO when she had the flat tire.

Nola, the photo you posted from the article shows the tower in the wrong location.

And the last person to see her getting in the car drunk was her dad. Eek for him. He will never be okay after this.
