Russ is described as 5'2" blonde hair (per NAMUS, her hair may be dyed), age 26, last seen wearing a dark top and black pants. Russ was last seen on 05/09/2013 which fits within the 6 month window of the unidentified being exposed for at least six months.

The t-shirt on Russ in the picture is a close match to the one on the unidentified woman, in my opinion. The black shirt she was seen wearing could be the jacket found on the unidentified woman.

This may not be quite the same jacket, but for this brand a women's small appears to be consistent with a size 6-8 for regular clothing: http://www.ppsapparel.com/4product_details130.htm

What I found interesting is that most team jackets I know of have a team/school logo or name and this one appears to just have the generic volleyball/water polo logo and personalization. I tried checking for women with the last name Williams but didn't turn up any likely candidates.

I agree, it's odd that there's not a team or league name or logo associated with the jacket. I'm not sure what if anything it might mean, though. Maybe she got it secondhand?

Maybe the jacket was a sample. In the course of my job I've received samples of embroidered items with a generic name and logos to see the workmanship and quality of the item before I ordered. I was usually free to keep the items if I wanted them.

Or on the other hand, it could be from a small team that didn't want to pay the extra charge to put a custom logo on the jacket and just used the generic.

That's a good thought about it being a sample. It might also be embroidered with a generic coach's name as well. I've never been part of a league so small that it didn't have at least something to indicate the team, even on cheap t-shirts.

Ms. Russo is a bit younger than the estimate, but otherwise she looks like a very good possible.

I'm puzzled by the dental work tbh. It would seem like a really obvious identifier but she was found 2 months ago and no leads.

I know they are being careful and not saying she is a homicide victim, but I've camped in Caspers, They are staffed, you have to go through a Ranger-manned gate to get in and pay for day use and overnight use. There are Ranger-guided walks as well as night events, Scout camps, etc. It's not a quiet backwater, at least in the most accessible areas.

Which makes me wonder where, exactly, she was found.

If she was a local rider, surely her horse would have turned up?

So IMO she is a local and stumbled upon a marijuana/other illegal operation up in the hills. Or someone non local who arrived to camp and never left (they don't check cars/RVs for passengers). Or was carried there and dumped, in some kind of vehicle, coming over the mountain from Elsinore on the fire roads (when they are open you can off road all over Saddleback).

IDK! Has a Pendleton Marine reported his wife up and left him? A tragic accident with an undocumented family not wanting to get in trouble?

I know we have other locals here - what do you guys think?

I havent heard of anyone local missing.

Michelle Russ was missing her front top teeth...

missing her front top 6 teeth, if she smiles you can see her molars.

The decedent had a very distinct gold colored dental bridge on her left lower jaw

If the jacket was a gift from the team as a thank you, I could see it not having the team name on it because it would be cost prohibitive. I could also see it for a recreation league that might not be well funded. The fact that the design is only on the front and is rather generic would have cut down on the cost of the gift.

I think the jacket could be from a school, it would explain the lack of unique logo, or sponsor.

Judging from the style of the jackets I've seen on ebay it looks like they mainly manufactured jackets in the 90s, so if she had any connection to the team I doubt it's current.

Does anyone else see an animal who slightly resembles Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh up high on the shirt, just below the neck and just to the right of the highest large hole in the fabric? I see blue eyes, a muzzle (with nostrils that are turned the opposite way of Eeyore's and that's why I doubt this is actually Eeyore, as Disney art portrays him consistently) and possibly big floppy ears.

Not that identifying the shirt design would help ID this woman when that dental bridge is no doubt more memorable...

Yep. I see it too.

I dunno. In my experience with schools and teams, they're among the most likely to have a strong shared identity and want the team logo or name or something on their jacket.

The large yellowish area just to the right looks a bit like it could be Winnie the Pooh.

Interesting comment by interested_bystander below the article stating:
"Coach Williams likely refers to Coach John Williams, women's water polo coach at USC who was recently inducted into the Water Polo hall of fame. That, plus the broken nose, suggests that this woman is a former USC water polo player. Check teams form about 10 years ago."

30-60 year old female found in Caspers Wilderness Park, skeletal remains.

LE estimates petite, approx. 30 with distinctive lower jaw gold dental bridge, possible broken nose.

Brown wavy hair with blonde highlights.

Found with yoga style athletic pants, pink short sleeve top, and windbreaker style jacket with volleyball/waterpolo image on front and "Coach Williams" embroidered on front.

NAMUS says DNA pending, but already has 35 exclusions.

I searched pretty extensively for various key terms including missing coach, volleyball, coach Williams, waterpolo, etc and haven't come up with anything yet.

Also haven't found any great matches in NAMUS/Charley.

Still looking, but open to suggestions!

The gold bridge is stumping me. I wish there was a photo or more info.

I am wondering if it was a cosmetic type "bling" tooth, or if it was older when gold prices were cheaper...I know looking at UID from border counties, some of the South/Central America have unusual/metal heavy dental restorations.

The "gold bridge", "gold dental" etc has not been a useful keyword search yet. Also tried in Spanish, with no luck...
