Found Deceased IA - Ethan Kazmerzak, 22, Hampton, 15 Sept 2013 *vehicle found*

22-year old Ethan Kazmerzak went missing sometime in the early hours of September 15th, 2013. A reward was offered for any information about his in October but was then taken off the table in early December. Now, police are hoping renewing the reward offer will help turn up some information about what may have happened to Ethan. On September 15th of last year the community of Hampton began the search for one of their own, and now 6 months later the question still remains, where is Ethan Kazmerzak?

..."On Monday, the Iowa State Patrol searched one area of Franklin County from the air for signs of Ethan's 2006 Volkswagen Jetta, and on Wednesday, Cerro Gordo CERT performed an aerial search of an expanded area into portions of Butler County," Dietz added.

...He could be driving a silver 2006 Volkswagen Jetta with Iowa license plates AUZ 382.

...The Story County Sheriff's Office Dive Team conducted a search of a pond behind 1426 190th St. in rural Hampton at around 10 a.m. Thursday as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Ethan Kazmerzak, 22.

There is more than just A POND, there are few more water holes a smidge to the east of that ONE at the above reported address of the pond searched. As well, there are a couple of creeks meandering through...Buffalo Creek & Otter Creek <- appears to be the larger of the two.

Kazmerzak was seen in several area pubs on Sept. 14, including Pit Row and the Red Moose in Hampton as well as Duck&#8217;s in Aredale. He was reportedly last seen at a party at a gravel pit pond located behind a house in the 1400 block of 190th Street. Police say his cell phone was last used at about 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 15 at the intersection of 190th Street and Olive Avenue and his ATM card has reportedly not been used since Sept. 14.

..."I just want Ethan to come home. I want somebody that knows something to help because their family can't take it anymore, this is too hard," family friend Pam Devries told KCCI in 2013. "I just hope that someone listens to their conscience and comes forward because somebody knows something."

...When asked if Ethan's credit cards and cellphone had remained inactive the past year, Schaefer said he couldn't comment on that.

Schaefer stressed that anyone with any information, even if they think it's insignificant, should contact police, and reminded the public that Ethan's car still has not been found.

...Richtsmeier said law enforcement authorities were able to digitally track Kazmerzak's cell phone and discovered that it was last used at the intersection of 190th Street and Olive Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 15.

"They were at a party at the sand pit," Richtsmeier said of Kazmerzak's last known location. "They were also in Aredale before they went to the sand pit."

Richtsmeier said in addition to having his deputies drive gravel roads throughout the county in hopes of maybe finding Kazmerzak's car off the road, two different airplanes were used on Monday to search the county. One - a private airplane - scanned the area around the sand pit. Later, Richtsmeier said, an Iowa State Patrol airplane was called in to re-search the area but no clues were discovered.

Richtsmeier said deputies would continue to scour county roads in an attempt to find any clues in the event Kazmerzak was involved in an accident - whether with another vehicle or a solo accident.

"If there was an accident, it's going to be a subtle indication," Richtsmeier explained. "There may be some gravel skid marks, a broken fence, or plants or grass flattened."
