INVESTIGATORS continued to backtrack the movements of missing Mount Isa man Richard Mutimbe.

Mr Mutimbe’s colleagues become concerned about the 59-year-old electrician’s welfare after he didn’t turn up for a shift at Mount Isa Mines late last month.

Police do not believe he is to be in possession of a motor vehicle and was reported missing to police by his employer on March 6.

His absence was also noticed at the Argylla Caravan Park where he resides.

Its sad to think he was last seen on the 28th Feb but not reported missing until the 6th March. Thank goodness his employer made the call. :(

Thanks for creating this thread, Marly. I've been quite concerned that Mr Mutimbe hasn't been getting much publicity at all - especially compared to Kyle. He may well not have family here - and as we know, when it comes down to it, it appears that it has to be the families who push MSM to provide decent coverage and keep cases alive.

I'm hoping RM has just taken off for personal reasons and that nothing bad has befallen him........:please:

Is it just me, or is this an alarming statement??! BBM

Inspector Kidd said during his time in the city he's seen police work on up to three missing person cases at one time.

He said there was a tendency for people to head out bush from the city and never return.

Are these disappearing people safe? Are they unharmed? Or do they completely disappear, never to reappear anywhere else........:scared:

:what: No its not just you Isis I find it alarming also.

Surely they cant just give up on them?

It freaks me out Kyle is missing, his friend passes away and now Richard is missing all within a few days of each other. What on earth is going on? :banghead:

If they head out bush surely they would take some of their belongings and supplies?

This is just horrible ...

It is bad enough that the people in Mt Isa could be being poisoned by the chemicals and heavy metals in the air (and water?), but they 'just wander off into the bush' too!

:shakehead:

I was just checking up to see if there was any more news about Richard. I found this, which reveals he was last seen at his workplace:

Inspector Kidd said they believed Mr Mutimbe has clocked in at work but had failed to clock out.

“I think that is part of the reason that we are looking around over there and making inquiries with the mine, because there are multiple methods of getting in and out of the mine and we are looking at all those things,” he said.

The same article says this:

A Zimbabwean based in Australia told Nehanda Radio;

“Because he was working in the mines living alone, no one is pushing the police. He had a messy divorce with his wife who is an aspiring pastor.

“Nyaya yacho yango nyarara (the story has gone quiet). Maybe if they publish something can be done. I think hama dzacho kumusha (the relatives back home) do not even know.”

Where is Richard?
Where is there any further news of him?

MSM need to do some follow up.
I hope his relatives have been contacted by now.

I also hope they checked his workplace thoroughly.

Bumping for Richard. Couldn't find anything on him since these initial articles.
