GUILTY UK - Mary Konye for acid attack on friend, Dagenham, London, 2012

22 year old Mary Konye of London has been jailed for 12 years for throwing acid in the face of her former friend, Naomi Oni. She carried out the attack wearing a veil.

In a statement read by her lawyer, Naomie, also 22, spoke of the devastating effect the disfigurement and the accused's allegations that she had put acid on her own face 'for publicity' has had upon her.

Mary Konye was apparently infuriated after Naomi allegedly called her ugly. She has since admitted throwing the acid to her lawyer, but her motive remains shrouded in mystery.

Here is a very creepy cctv photo of Mary following Naomi, just before the attack. The girls were good friends but there had been trivial words over a boy. Mary even texted Naomi after to say 'OMG! I can't believe it!'

Naomi didn't have a clue her friend would do such a thing to her. The judge said Mary committed a 'deliberate and wicked act' and her remorse after her conviction was 'utterly belated'.

She may be paroled in six or seven years..........

To quote a much used but highly appropriate phrase in this case, with friends like that, who needs enemies? How horrific. To think that she committed such an evil act against her friend is just unbelievable. She didn't want to kill her, oh no, she wanted to make her ugly and suffer for the rest of her life.

What a miserable human being, she's a danger to everyone. Watch out if you're prettier than her or glance at her boyfriend, everyone!
