Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Was hopeful after TWO people escaped submerged cars in the last two days...but no happy ending this time

A 24-year-old woman and her 5-year-old child have been found dead after their car became submerged in flood water in Monroe County, Indiana Department of Natural Resources officials said.

The bodies of Jana Payton, 24, and her son Bronson Liggett, 5, were found around 4:30 p.m. Saturday in flood waters.
Oddly, the second time in under 24 hours we also had some occupants of a car make it out and not the rest also.

But mostly, how heart breaking for her 7 year old to lose all his immediate family - his mom AND brother!

I hope there are grandparents or other family he'll be able to live with since apparently their father isn't involved.

Michelle Huffman, a co-worker of Payton's, described her as a dedicated worker who held down two jobs to support her children: 5-year-old Bronson and his 7-year-old brother, who was not in car at the time.

So do I. It's still rough here, ongoing flooding, thunderstorms, and a chance for a tornado.
