Cops hunt for missing man -

John Davies, 66, was last heard from April 3 when he contacted his sister Darlene Davies in Barrie. "Something is really wrong. This is so unlike him," Darlene Davis told the Sun Sunday night. Her brother lived in a complex on Lorrie Greenberg Drive and was recently dealing with a medical issue. She said police found his car over the weekend on NCC property.

According to the article below, he was scheduled for a colonoscopy on Apr 11 but sister doesn't know if he did, in fact, have it done.

Did he have it done and get the results showing something serious like colon cancer?....or was it just a routine colonoscopy?

His vehicle was found with his camera bag inside but not his camera. I'm inclined to think that he went on a walk/hike, planning to take nature pics....and maybe he suffered a fall, or heart attack....or bear/animal attack?

Bizarre to me that articles indicate police asking for public's help in locating him....but I've read nothing about any kind of search by LE of the area his car was found (some news articles specify the actual location)....whether a ground search, dog search, aerial search, etc. Wouldn't that be the most logical thing to do?

My heart goes out to his sister who, it seems, is meeting a lot of dead ends in terms of getting needed info to help find him.

Rivers in the area are swollen right now and it's quite possible that he slipped.

“There was a camera bag in the car and there was no camera; he’s an avid photographer,” [his sister] said. “Last night around 6 they let me know they were doing a land and water search around Hog’s Back.”

Davies said her only guess would be that he slipped and fell while trying to take a picture.

I' hope he's found safe soon. They just found his car at the Hogs Back parking lot, but that's not a good sign he hasn't been found yet. It's not actually a huge area really but the falls is quite rocky and I can see someone slipping quite easily. There's been a lot of melting and overflow of course with the warm weather recently, but I was hoping they'd find another clue by now.
I didn't know about the possible colonoscopy he had recently, perhaps he did get bad news (or fearing the worst) and is suicidal? I hope he's okay and just doesnt want to be found yet.

Body not yet identified but sadly I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be Mr Davies. So sad.

looks like they found a body here near Hogs Back, very close indeed. It hasn't been confirmed but its very likely him unfortunately. Article in our local paper this afternoon:

so sad, my heart goes out to his family. If it is him, as tragic as their loss is, at least they have some closure.
