CA - William Sherman, 7 mos, stabbed to death, Livermore, 26 April 2014

    http://m.ktvu.com/news/news/crime-la...7-month/nfjTz/

East Bay Regional Park District police Sunday morning identified the suspect in the fatal stabbing of her 7-month-old infant son as 23-year-old San Jose resident Ashley Newton.

The department tweeted out a press release identifying Newton in the homicide at about 9:15 a.m. Newton has been booked in Santa Rita Jail on the charge of murder and is currently being held without bond.

I started sleuthing this yesterday, before the mother's name was released (I found her on Alameda County's list of inmates; she was the only 23 year old female charged with murder) and haven't gotten anywhere - Ashley Newton is such a common name. Horrible, horrible story though. Possible PPD? RIP poor little guy

    Poor baby.

The things that LE has to see must give them horrible nightmares.
Say what you mean, mean what you say, but don't say it mean.
We are all just trying to make sense of an unimaginable crime.

    This happened in August:

    http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/201...re-found-dead/

The father of a baby who police say was stabbed to death by his mother in Livermore was found dead Wednesday, according to authorities' published report.

A spokesman for the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office said the body of Daniel Sherman was found at an undisclosed location.

Sherman was the father of William Brian Sherman, a seven-month-old baby who was stabbed to death in April at a rural area near Livermore.
No further updates on the case since then.
