Very Sad :( I just drove by there.

Just an FYI the Junior High School is located just accross the street from this location and it is a route that is highly traveled by young kids from the area. Just sad all the way around :(

I certainly wish whomever is responsible would have sought other options and/or help from somewhere.......

Although this tiny little angel gained his/her wings in silence, unbeknownst to the world until today, my heart is broken at the thought of any suffering that may have occurred. I also hope for accountability, because treating a defenseless newborn this way is just plain wrong.

May this tiny soul now truly have peace. I hope the answers to what happened and why are found. No child should be buried, to be found by accident, like this. There are SO many families longing for a child. It didn't have to be this way.

Fly High, Little One. Fly High.

I am hoping this baby was at least a stillborn.

I am hoping this baby was at least a stillborn.

I hadn't thought of that popsicle. They will be able to determine that at autopsy. :tears:

I am emotional today, I guess.

Sad, too, about the fatal accident in that community just days ago. :(

That was one of my friends Daughter in-law :( She had two small babies too. Funeral services for that are on Wednesday.

From what I have been reading in articles there was quite a bit of decomp of the body. This leads me to believe that the infant may have been placed there in the late summer/fall. As cold as this winter has been it would have slowed down decomp process tremendously. This may make it harder to pin down the suspect.

That being said this is a VERY small town its hard to imagine the individual being able to hide this very well. My thoughts tend to lean toward a young female as opposed to an adult just due to location of the body. I could be wrong though. Curious to see what the autopsy reveals.

Very sad that a young person would not feel there was another option other than this one I can not imagine why they would feel this is the right thing to do...... blows my mind! Wish they would have found an alternate option and asked someone/anyone for help.

Channel 7 is reporting there are new details in the case and will be covering the story at 5pm

Fox2 News had much better coverage of this story than Channel 7 did.

If you are familiar with the location this is not an "out of the way location" and is very visible from various vantage points. It leads me to wonder if the person responsible were not somehow familiar with the homeowners of where the body was placed.

COD will determine if the infant was stillborn or not. Hopefully this being a small community someone will come forward with information that helps bring closure for this poor baby.

I haven't found an update on this case today. Hopefully, once the autopsy is completed, more details will be released about COD, how long the baby had been deceased, etc.

Curious to see why she would do this :( The articles state "woman" so perhaps this was not a young teen but someone who kept to themselves for one reason or another? I still think it is a local individual as the articles I've seen also state she came into the local police station.

This photo makes me cry. Trying to envision the events that led up to placing this tiny little baby into the earth that way. Searching my soul for sympathy, because I can't truly empathize in this case. I've never walked a mile in her shoes, much less made such a horrific decision to leave my child behind, without a proper burial, to be discovered by accident.

Still, my heart and mind go to the child first. I hope this little angel did not suffer!

:praying:

(Because I honestly do NOT know what else to do :tears: )

This article from the small local newspaper seems to have the most information about the person who turned themselves in on Monday.

I'm sure they would not release anything until further until they have gathered all their information and verified she is in fact the mother in question. As long as the person is 18 or older anyway. Many are wondering who it is and being such a small town who has come in contact with them unknowingly or have they been around our children? Locals seem to be both shaken and saddened by this whole ordeal.

Regardless of the why ...... the way this poor child was discarded is a crime in itself. Not to mention the COD, that's what I'm concerned about. Did this person "take a life"? Others are also wondering.

This poor baby was not given any regard being it was placed in a trash bag .......

So Sad :(

At least we were not left wondering very long if they were going to be able to bring closure for the poor infant and he/she can now be given a proper burial.

"Drake said she came into the Clay Township Police Department Monday morning and gave specific details of what occurred in reference to the infant."

"Detectives from the CTPD are in the process of confirming those details and processing the evidence, including proving that the female is the infant's mother, but her statement appears to be credible. The cause and time of death has not yet been determined. "
