I hope she is found safe. My son lived in Ypsilanti when he was in college. Some areas are safe and others not so much. They don't give much detail about where she was going when last seen or about what her usual habits are.

Police update: Ypsilanti Township woman met friend at Knight's Inn before missing person report filed -

Authorities were still searching, Wednesday, for Tonya Jackson, the 42-year-old Ypsilanti Township woman, who went missing Saturday. Jackson was last seen at Knight’s Inn in Romulus, said Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office public information officer Derrick Jackson said Wednesday.

“She met up with a friend at Knight’s Inn at about 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 3,” Derrick Jackson said. “We’ve spoken to the friend and right now nothing says that (foul play is involved), but there are more questions than answers at this point.”

Nakyeta Evans, Tonya Jackson’s sister, said that Tonya Jackson told her she was going to “hang out – have a girl’s night on the town and have a few drinks” with a female friend in New Boston.

I lived up there for six months, and it was DANGEROUS then! I haven't even been back to visit. I'm worried about this one....

Tonya Jackson Missing: Search Continues For Ypsilanti, Michigan, Mom

“The female friend called me and said Tonya went out with a male co-worker for drinks at Knights Inn, but said she didn’t have a good feeling and that she felt like my sister wasn’t OK,” Evans said. ““It’s not likely that my sister would just up and leave like that, though.”

Evans said her sister and her brother-in-law “had little problems, like every marriage does, but nothing that would make her run off. I really don’t know what to think.”

Police: Missing Ypsilanti woman may have left note seeking help in Ohio Steak 'n Shake bathroom

Police in Englewood, Ohio – a suburb just northwest of Dayton – have reason to believe that the May 19 tip that came in about missing Ypsilanti woman Tonya Jackson was a handwritten note by Jackson herself.

According to Englewood Police Department Sgt. Mike Lang, an employee at the Englewood Steak 'n Shake found the note in a stall inside the women's restroom on Monday, May 19, before calling it into the police. "(The note) had her name, the name of the guy, and a description of the vehicle, and indicated that she needed help," Lang said.

ENGLEWOOD, Ohio -
More than a month after an Ypsilanti mother's disappearance, a troubling find at an Ohio restaurant may be the first real clue. It was a handwritten plea for help possibly written by Tonya Jackson herself.

The note was found in the bathroom of a Steak and Shake restaurant in Englewood, Ohio, nearly 200 miles from her home in Ypsilanti.

Investigators called the note a significant lead, though they're not sure Jackson wrote it...

Search for missing Ypsilanti Township woman expands to Ohio following discovery of note

Police are still searching for Tonya Jackson, a missing mother of four from Ypsilanti Township, but now that search has been extended beyond Metro Detroit. The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office was contacted last month by police in Englewood, Ohio – a northern suburb of Dayton – after a suspicious looking note was found in a Steak ‘n Shake restaurant bathroom, possibly linking Jackson, who was last seen in Romulus May 3, to the area.

Wow. I live in Michigan (about 45 minutes from Ypsilanti) and this is the first I've heard of this. This is a very worrisome case.

If this is Tonya this is really scary! I hope she wrote down the license plate number as well.

Wow so she was kidnapped or what is going on?

The note had the guy's name and car description, they should be able to find them. I certainly pray she is found alright, she looks like a lovely woman. I'm amazed how young she looks, I'd never have guessed she's in her 40s.
