HRCSO investigating dog shooting and missing person case -

Jason Muschaweck, 24, has been missing from his home at 7390 Clear Creek Road since at least Monday evening. Jessica Muschaweck, sister-in-law of Jason, reported that a conversation over Facebook with a family friend at 10:05 p.m. Sunday was the last anyone had heard from Jason.

Hood River County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Jason’s residence at 6:18 p.m., Monday by relatives, who Sheriff Matt English said reported a “possible burglary.” Inside, deputies found Jason’s dog, a 2-year-old female Pit bull named Sox, in a bathroom with multiple puncture wounds to the throat, possibly from a pair of scissors, as well as a gunshot wound to the head. The dog survived and is currently at Tucker Road Animal Hospital, in Hood River, although Jessica said that veterinarians have been unable to extract the bullet fragments.

Jessica described the house as “ransacked” and reported that “guns, money, electronics, and a big screen TV” were missing from the house, but that Jason’s cellphone was found on his bed. English reported a cell phone was recovered from the scene, but that HRSCO did not have conclusive evidence that there was indeed a burglary and did not know who attacked the dog. HRCSO is currently in the process of analyzing evidence taken from the scene.

Do you guys read this as meaning back home alive or dead? Or more like no matter what?

This just reads odd to me (like no matter what as in if he has done something)...

Jessica Muschaweck, sister-in-law of Jason, said not knowing what has happened to Jason has left the family “heavy-hearted, and sick.”

“However the outcome, the family wants him home,” she said.

And what about this?

“At this point, there is no definitive information that there was foul play,” English reported Wednesday morning. “We just don’t know where he is.”

All that stuff is missing yet they're not sure there was a burglary?

And they have nothing definitive showing there was foul play?

That almost sounds like LE is implicating HIM, doesn't it? Like he took his own stuff and then is gone by choice?

But who hurt his dog? Just by the look of him I don't think he looks the type to do that. My guess would be that someone he knew came in and then did something to him and injured his dog when she protected him.

I agree, they really seem to be implying something, I just can't quite put my finger on it. I keep coming back to the fact that he lives with his brother...who otherwise doesn't seem to have been mentioned yet.

The 3 murdering brothers were friends of Jason. What a betrayal. For a frikkin TV? Wow. I hope they rot.

Wednesday, the Hood River County Sheriff's Department arrested three brothers, Michael, Donald and Peter Schneider for breaking into Muschaweck's house. Michael and Donald Schneider are also facing murder charges; prosecutors say the two took Muschaweck's own gun and used it to kill him, before taking his body away and doing something with it.

Hood River County Sheriff Matt English said Muschaweck's remains were found, but is not saying where, or what may have been done to the body.

Jason's mother, Sharon Muschaweck, was in court Thursday morning when the Schneider brothers were arraigned.

RIP Jason.

From July:

http://www.hoodrivernews.com/news/2015/jul/25/brothers-will-stand-trial-february-2016-parkdale-m/

Donald Schneider, 22, and Michael Schneider, 27, of Parkdale were charged in June by a grand jury with stealing 24-year-old Jason Muschaweck’s pistol and shooting him to death with the same weapon.

The Schneiders’ trial is expected to take three weeks, from February 16 to March 4...

A third brother, Peter Schneider... was initially accused of burglary and theft — however, following the June grand jury hearing, he and his brothers were dealt new charges of criminal conspiracy and aggravated animal abuse.

From January:

Donald and Michael Schneider of Parkdale pled guilty Tuesday to killing their childhood friend, Jason Muschaweck, in 2014.

Michael Schneider, 28, was sentenced to 25 years to life for murder.

Donald Schneider, 23, will serve 20 years for manslaughter and 19 months for burglary.

A third brother, Peter Schneider, 24, is still in jail. He had bailed out in December, but authorities re-arrested him at the Tuesday appearance for bringing knives to court... Peter still faces charges related to the original incident — theft, burglary, animal abuse, and conspiracy...
