NM - Lorraine Ramirez, 47, Silver City, 2 May 2014

    Lorraine Ramirez

Silver City woman missing and endangered since May 2
Woman's vehicle found near Emory Pass May 16 -

    SILVER CITY >>
A Silver City woman, Lorraine Ramirez, 47, went missing on May 2, according to Ramirez's sister, Fauve Parise, but according to New Mexico State Police Lt. Robert McDonald, the police first learned of the missing woman when the U.S. Forest Service reported an abandoned car at Lower Gallinas camp ground on State Road 152 toward Emory Pass to police on May 16. The U.S. Forest Service had reportedly seen the car parked at the camp ground since May 10. Parise, who lives in Bisbee, Arizona, says Ramirez's boyfriend reported Ramirez missing on May 12 but McDonald says police first made contact with Ramirez's boyfriend only after they ran the license plate on the abandoned car and stopped by the apartment Ramirez shared with her boyfriend in the 1400 block of Little Walnut Rd.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Well I hope she is not 'lost' up there...it is beautiful but rugged and some is part that burned so badly last year so there are further issues. We have had little to no rain and little to no snow during the winter, so it's very dry.. I'm not sure I see the point in her with her disabilities being up there..it is quiet a ways from Silver(maybe 40 miles)

Ramirez's boyfriend reportedly told police he and Ramirez had fought before she left home May 2. He also told police she said she was going to do methamphetamines as she was leaving.

Parise said Ramirez is developmentally disabled and is on required medication. Because Ramirez requires medication, she is listed as both missing and endangered. Ramirez's boyfriend has checked himself into a hospital since police made contact with him, both Parise and McDonald said.

McDonald said that after state police made contact with Ramirez's boyfriend on May 16, they contacted NM Search and Rescue who visited the camp ground that Friday afternoon. They couldn't find anything so the next day, May 17, Search and Rescue returned with a canine to the Lower Gallinas camp ground in the morning but still came up cold.

According to Parise, Ramirez's boyfriend had phone contact with Ramirez on May 5 and again on May 7. Ramirez suffers from serious physical problems, has a heart condition and needs oxygen, according to Parise. Ramirez has also suffered from depression in the past, he sister said.

So the BF doesn't report her missing, the police go to him b/c of the car which had been there for 2 weeks at that point.

He says he reported her missing (believing the police, not you, dude - sorry!) - but even that was 10 days after she went missing on the off chance it is actually true.

And now he checks himself into a hospital.

    Uh huh...

gives you a feel for the terrain and if I did it correctly shows you the entrance to the campground..it says this photo is from 2008 so you can't see the burn.

I wonder if her personal items were in the car? was it locked? her purse?
