On 05/19/1981, at 0315 hrs. Richmond Police responded to a body in the alley of 306 E. Leigh Street in Richmond.
The unidentifed decedent, a white male, 20-35 years of age, cause of death: skulls fractures, acute brain injury due to beating with blunt instrument. On 10/02/81, a suspect was convicted of homicide but the decedent is still not identified.

I could've sworn there was a thread for this guy -- I'm following his case on NAMUS; they added a picture today.

As soon as I saw the recon, I was like, "That's the dude that disappeared the year after we moved to New England!" Took me a while to find him, though, because I couldn't remember his name.

Charley says Keith was wearing: a red and blue plaid shirt, blue dungarees, brown shoes, a blue baseball cap

Namus says the victim was wearing: blue jeans, plaid shirt, yellow socks, black shoes

Anyone know what the circumstances were surrounding the beating? They convicted the perp, but he didn't know who he was beating? Was it a bar fight? Robbery?

(hey thanks for changing the title Carl! I never can remember what to put - I'm horrible at writing LOL)

Also, PLEASE call this in!!!

Looks like his DNA has been updated from none to complete - insufficient

He looks a lot like Keith LaLima who went missing in Connecticut a few days earlier:

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

Keith's either within or very near all the parameters, though circumstances make it unlikely he ever left Connecticut.

Original

196 Exclusions including Keith Lalima.

Two news articles from 1981 have recently been added to this Doe's NamUs page. It seems that the killer would have been released from prison in 1991 on a suspended sentence. Sad that his victim is still unidentified.

Interestingly, they have cut the exclusions list down to 5. I think they're the five most recent.
