No rule out list on NAMUS

"Missing persons cases were compared with the unidentified case without success.

It isn't clear what happened to the remains. There is no indication in the Sheriff's Office records and the Coroner's records on the case are missing. The remains and clothing were destroyed on May 10, 1985."

How can a young woman be born, live, die, unknown?! This is the saddest case. Why was everything destroyed? Makes no sense, IMO

WHAT?!?!? How on EARTH could they just destroy the remains AND the clothing?

"Yes, yes. This is an unsolved case, let's just destroy all evidence that it ever happened and move along."

That woman existed; she lived. She had family and friends and people who are wondering what the Hell happened to her. She was either in high school, just dropped out, or had recently graduated. She died, we don't know how she died but I'm willing to bet good money she didn't just fall over and die of natural causes. I have a good feeling someone knows what happened to her. She had a name and a face and now due to severe police misconduct (And yes, destroying evidence in an OPEN INVESTIGATION is what I would call police misconduct) the people who cared about her will never know what happened. If she was murdered, the person who killed her will never be tried for her death.

Whoever decided to destroy her remains and her clothing; I hope they realize that they basically doomed a human being into being forever unidentified. They doomed someone's family into never knowing what happened to their daughter/sister/niece/possibly mother.

Did they actually save any DNA whatsoever? I really think there would be an inquest into why it was destroyed, as well as any possible parts that could be identified. (I think DNA can be taken from cremation ash, but I don't know how they were destroyed).

Finally had time to go through this list.

Bonita Bickwit was 15 when she went missing in July 1973 with her boyfriend in New York, so if they decided to hit the road together, she could have wound up in Washington. The UID is estimated to have died between 1976 and 1978, when Bonita would have been 18 to 20, in range. Hair style and general style of dress are close.

The big drawback is that she was a tiny person, only 4'11", and is unlikely to have grown to 5'7" like the UID.

A lot more information here: http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/b/bickwit_bonita.html

Patricia Chesser. She would have had to grow a lot, but she's young enough it's possible.

Deborah Meyer had a full set of dentures, so she is a ruleout.

Barbara Monaco. Except that she's believed to have been murdered in Virginia Beach...

Lynne Kathryn Schulze

Angela Rader, probably too small.

http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/1500dfny.html

Sheryl Tillinghast looks more possible than most.

http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/2242dffl.html

Wendy Stephenson, almost certainly killed the day she disappeared by a serial killer.

Sarah Tokier. http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/t/tokier_sarah.html. Possible.

Kathy Wilcox. http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/w/wilcox_kathy.html. She was 15 in 1972, which would make her at the high end or above the estimated age range.

Deborah Tomlinson looks promising. http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/t/tomlinson_deborah.html

At one point it was believed that these remains could possibly be those of presumed Bundy victim Donna Manson, who's been missing 43 years today. A few issues were raised with this possibility but I don't think they were ever able to determine conclusively either way. Now I don't think we'll ever know for sure. Link to Donna's Charley Project page:http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/m/manson_donna.html

Another one in Pierce County?

I wish Donna Manson would be found but I don't think this is her. She was only 5 feet tall and the clothing doesn't match.

Details that elaborate on this more from Donna's page above: "Authorities apparently believed the Eatonville skeleton was placed at the scene after 1974. Pierce County, Washington officials did not compare Manson's records to those of the unidentified victim, although a King County, Washington investigator inquired about the possibility during the late 1970's. X-rays and additional records for the victim disappeared from Pierce county sometime afterwards. It is unclear what happened to the documents. A forensic dentist employed by law enforcement officials ruled out seven missing persons as potential matches for the Eatonville remains in 1978. Manson remained the only possible match to the victim, although the skeleton was destroyed afterwards."

I think you're right on all but one count. I think the only thing worse than someone never knowing what happened to their daughter, sister, aunt, niece, or friend is knowing how badly police botched her case and that because of that not only will she never get to go home, but her final resting place is a landfill. There's absolutely no way of fixing that.

I’ve been looking at Cherry Ann Greenman:

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/4398/

Missing from Waterville WA on or before September 14, 1976. Long brown hair. 67” tall. Known to hitchhike to other parts of WA and OR.

This UID could be Cherry Greenman but I don't think there's a way to rule her in or out because the only identifier available for the Jane Doe is dental records, which Cherry doesn't have.

And no DNA from the decedent which Cherry has *sighs deeply*
