The body of missing Bournemouth nurse, Rui Li, age 44, has been discovered in the trunk of a car in Verwood Crescent, near Hengistbury Head, Friday May 30th.

Rui Li was last seen Friday May 23rd by her daughter when she returned home from work. CCTV showed her leaving Poole hospital in her Porsche Boxter.

Two men, aged 26 and 60, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Now police are appealing for anyone with any info about the car Rui Li's body was found in to come forward.

It's a Silver Fiat Punto, plate number W887 PDL.

It may have been in the area of St Clements Rd and Knyveton Rd in Boscombe between Sunday 25th and Wednesday 28th May. It's also thought to have travelled between Verwood and Hengistbury Head on May 28th.

Police also need information about a white Ford Transit, plate number Y491 GFT, that may have been in the area of Burnham Drive between Saturay May 24th and Tuesday the 27th.

Contact Dorset Police on 101 with any info. Or online here: http://www.dorset.police.uk/

Rui Li's husband has just been charged with her murder. That's who the 60 year-old suspect is. Named as Pierre Legris.

The 26 year-old suspect is said to be his son but there is no mention of Rui Li being his mother. Though it's still terrible that a stepson is a suspect. He hasn't been charged but police have been given extra time to question him and he's still in custody. Hasn't been named yet.

Police are still appealing for anyone who saw the vehicles last week to come forward.

Police have done the usual thing of making it absolutely clear there won't be any comment or further information until the trial, so it looks like there will be little more to report for months.

Myself, I think there may be some previous history or incidents here; one of the earliest reports hints that police effectively began a murder investigation the moment Rui Li's daughter reported her missing, because of 'information received'.

I am assuming Rui Li and her husband had separated, as they have different addresses. Rui Li came to the UK from China 10 years ago. I don't know if she was already married then, or met her husband in the UK.

Well, a 60 year-old French national, Alain Pierre Legris, runs the Cromer Motors police kept speaking about in connection with Rui Li's disappearance.

But it looks like up until four years ago, he was married to someone else.

I wonder if money is going to be a factor here? A Porsche Boxter is quite an expensive car for someone on a nurse's salary, isn't it?

'Funny and so unique, she was totally reliable, professional and conscientious to a tee. She is terribly missed by all of us.

Her nature was gentle and serene and that is part of the reason we and the patients love her so much.'

The above was a tribute from staff at Poole Hospital where Rui Li worked. So sad.

The Mail also has the first picture I have seen of the husband charged with her murder.

As an aside I used to be a nurse at Poole General Hospital where she worked

From Daily Mail

"Three women have been arrested in connection with the inquiry into the murder of nurse Rui Li.
Dorset Police said the women, aged 25, 28 and 65, were detained yesterday on suspicion of assisting an offender."

A bigamist accused of murdering his second wife sent text messages professing his love for his first wife days before the killing, a court has heard. Pierre Legris - also known as Alain Baron - texted Irene Smith, to whom he has been married since 1987, to tell her he loved her on Wednesday, May 21.

He is alleged to have murdered Poole nurse Rui Li on Friday, May 23, wrapping her body in a plastic sheet before stashing it in the back of a Transit van... On the day after Ms Li is alleged to have died, Pierre Legris and Smith travelled to Watford together to watch a dance show and have lunch, it is said. The two were allegedly captured on CCTV "hand in hand".

The trial at Winchester Crown Court continues.

http://www.westerndailypress.co.uk/...ed-murdering/story-25877298-detail/story.html

Nigel Lickley QC, prosecuting, told Winchester Crown Court that Pierre Legris, who ran a “sexual” massage service, conspired to murder Ms Li, with his other wife, Irene Smith, 66, and their son Jonathan Legris, 27...

Mr Lickley said that Smith told police that her husband spent the night that Ms Li was killed with her, arriving between 7pm and 8pm and they ate a meal together before watching EastEnders on television. However, Mr Lickley showed the jury CCTV footage of Pierre Legris arriving at her home at about 4.45am...

Smith also sent her son, Jonathan Legris, a text message that morning saying “Be careful and thanks.”

http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/ne...s_would_pay_out_if_husband_was_found_guilty_/

The first wife of a bigamist accused of murdering a Poole nurse asked if insurers would "pay out" on the deceased's life insurance if he was found guilty, a court has heard.

Irene Smith attended LV in Bournemouth on a number of occasions after husband Pierre Legris was charged with murdering 44-year-old second wife Rui Li... Prosecutors allege that she first attended on July 21 last year enquiring about insurance on a property in Burnham Drive owned by Pierre Legris and Ms Li. She returned on August 18 that year, it is alleged, when she made enquiries about Ms Li's life insurance...

It is alleged that she said: "When [Pierre Legris] is found guilty, will you still pay out?", correcting the word 'when' to 'if' as she spoke.

A bigamist was today convicted of murdering one of his wives after his secret double life led him into money trouble.

Pierre Legris, 61, beat nurse Rui Li, who was last seen leaving work at hospital in her Porsche Boxster, to death using a heavy implement.

And today, his other wife, Irene Smith, whom he married 28 years ago, was today cleared of conspiracy to murder Ms Li but convicted of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.

Pierre's son, Jonathan, was also cleared of conspiracy to murder but convicted of assisting an offender. Jonathan wept in the dock as he was cleared of conspiracy to murder.

They have all been sentenced the same day. Pierre Legris got a life sentence (his lawyer told the court he has cancer that has 'degenerated'). His other wife Irene Smith received three years, and their son Jonathan received two, for assisting an offender. It was the son who broke down under questioning and told police the location of the car with Rui Li's body.

Interesting comments at that link from locals who seem to know the convicted.
