Coast Guard searches for missing guardsman at Ponce Inlet station after going for run, officials say
Petty Officer 2nd Class Johnnie Walton, 37, who joined the Coast Guard in July 2001, was on duty at Coast Guard Station Ponce De Leon Inlet in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, when he disappeared while exercising off base, according to Coast Guard officials. Walton was jogging at the Smyrna Dunes Park and was last seen on the boardwalk.Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. Sources have told Channel 9 that a Coast Guard member who disappeared Wednesday morning has been found dead...
On Wednesday, investigators said Petty Officer 2nd Class Johnnie Walton was last seen jogging off base Tuesday morning in New Smyrna Beach, where he left his wallet and cellphone behind.
Walton was last seen near the Coast Guard Station in New Smyrna Beach.

The U.S. Coast Guard called of the search for Petty Officer 2nd Class Johnnie F. Walton, 37, of Edgewater, after authorities found him dead of an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound.
