An extensive forensic search has begun of a Birmingham house, in the search for missing 39 year-old Lisa Bennett, missing since May 9th last year. Lisa was last seen at a chemist (pharmacy) near her home.

Police have been searching for Lisa for a year but say they've found 'no trace she is still alive'. The property is in Kingston Court, Abdon Avenue, Selly Oak, Birmingham, and police believe Lisa stayed there.

A 34 year-old man was arrested in February 2014 on suspicion of her murder, but has since been released on bail.

The search is expected to last several days.

Lisa is described as white, 5'8", with short dark brown hair and a flower on her right shoulder.

Anyone with information should call West Midlands Police CID on 101
Or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111

Police plea for help in Lisa Bennett murder investigation

MURDER squad detectives are urging people to start the new year by helping them find out what happened to a Burton woman.

Senior officers from West Midlands Police are set to kick-start 2015 with a renewed effort to find out exactly what happened to Lisa Bennett, of Winshill, after she disappeared in May 2013.

The force has always said that all current evidence points to the fact that the 39-year-old has died and now officers are trying to search for information 'big or small' to find out what happened to Ms Bennett and to help catch her killer.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "The Lisa Bennett missing person investigation is still ongoing and a man remains on police bail in connection with the inquiry."

Why did it take her mum two weeks to report her daughter missing? Seems a pretty long time. Maybe they weren't in regular contact?

No updates in media since inquest in 2017.

A couple has been convicted of murdering a homeless woman by drowning her in a bath then dumping her body in a wheelie bin.

Kathleen Salmond and Kevin Flanagan killed 39-year-old Lisa Bennett at their flat in Birmingham on or around 9 May 2013, then claimed her benefits.

Salmond, 40, was also found guilty of benefit fraud and preventing a burial. Flanagan, 39, previously admitted the same charges.

They are due to be sentenced on Friday.
