CA - Los Angeles, WhtMale UP3566, 35-55, MVA, cholecystectomy, Dec'95
It seems odd that the remains are listed as decomposed when the UID survived a full month after the traffic accident, but perhaps no photograph is available from that period and they are referring to the current remains (especially as a DNA profile is incomplete).
I couldn't find any other information on whether this UID was in a car, pedestrian, or other type of traffic accident.

Nicholas Peter Zizzamia's disappearance is mysterious and not necessarily implausible even though he disappeared from Cherry Hill, NJ. Only dental records are available for him so it is unlikely he has been compared with the above UID since that is a manual process from what I understand.
From Charley Project: http://charleyproject.org/cases/z/zi..._nicholas.html
Missing Since: May 12, 1979 from Cherry Hill, New Jersey
Classification: Endangered Missing
Date Of Birth: October 30, 1956
Age: 22 years old
Height and Weight: 5'11, 290 pounds
Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian male. Brown hair, brown eyes.
Clothing/Jewelry Description: Blue jeans, a tan sweater and white sneakers.
Details of Disappearance
Zizzamia was last seen leaving his parents' Cherry Hill, New Jersey home on May 12, 1979. He said he was going to pick up tickets for his upcoming graduation from Villanova University, which was scheduled to take place on May 14. When Zizzamia's parents went to the ceremony, their son was not there. He has never been heard from again. His father's car, which Zizzamia was driving when he was last seen, was found locked and abandoned behind his father's barbershop on May 15, three days after his disappearance.
Zizzamia has never been heard from again. He never used his driver's license, Social Security number or credit card after his disappearance. It's possible he committed suicide or left of his own accord; his friends stated he was unhappy with his life and had spoken about wanting to "vanish." Zizzamia's mother died in 2003 and his father died in 2012. His case remains unsolved.
Photographs from The Inquirer article:
The article quotes a friend as saying Zizzamia had spoken of suicide and never being found, or even vanishing. The police detective interviewed does not seem to think Zizzamia planning his disappearance is out of the question. There is also a mention of "some gay tendencies" and an overall depression with life and the future.
In 1995, Zizzamia would be 39 which is within the UID's timeframe. The height and weight are close. In his images, he has dark hair and he is reported to have brown eyes.
If he wanted to vanish to somewhere more liberal about the gay lifestyle in 1979, perhaps California seemed like a good option? San Francisco, Los Angeles - the state might seem like an escape for a young man unhappy with his university and potential future taking over his father's business?
I wonder what his parents thought. I do not want to read too much into it, but his father's online obituary not mentioning Zizzamia seems like a poignantly silent gesture - especially as he was the only child of his parents' marriage.

Per the Case Investigator's update, Nicholas Zizzamia was ruled out based on dentals.

I wonder if Pedro Aguilar has been looked at? He went missing from Los Angeles in 1992 and the Charley Project says that he suffers from memory loss. He also looks like he has curly black hair and his height and weight seem close. Pedro would have been about 51 years old in 1995.
