PA - Grove City, WhtFem 16-25, in landfill, Jun'14 - Gina Burger

    http://www.observer-reporter.com/art...3#.U62UFigqWAA

The womanís body was found Wednesday afternoon at Tri-County Industries Inc. in Pine Township, Mercer County. Thatís near Grove City, about 45 miles north of Pittsburgh.

State police Trooper Dan Kesten says investigators believe the body was dumped in the landfill by one of the companyís trucks, which collect trash from various parts of northwestern Pennsylvania and northeastern Ohio. Police believe that happened sometime between midnight and 3 p.m. Wednesday, when the body was found.

The woman has not been identified, but state police describe her as a white female between the ages of 16 to 25. She had long, brown hair, blue eyes, pierced ears and was about 5-feet tall.

She was wearing black yoga pants, a black tank top, white ankle socks with green trim and a green bra, reports the station.

Investigators said Tri-County often sends the waste collected at the transfer station to the landfill in Butler County for disposal. But troopers said they donít know how the victimís body ended up in Pine Township since Tri-County takes in hundreds of loads of garbage each day from all around the region.

ďWhich goes as far east as Clarion and as far west as Youngstown. It also goes as far north as Erie, down to Mercer County,Ē Kesten said.

At this point, investigators are waiting for autopsy results for a cause of death. An autopsy was completed on Thursday in Erie.

The circumstances surrounding a woman found dead Wednesday afternoon at a Pine, Mercer County, solid-waste transfer station continues to baffle investigators...

An autopsy was performed but is pending further investigation, said Mercer County Coroner J. Bradley McGonigle III on Thursday evening... He could not say how long the woman had been dead or whether she sustained any trauma.

Yeah, it sounds like a relatively recent death. I thought of Erica Klinger, but can't find any description of what she was last seen wearing. And she went missing nearly 250 miles to the east.

Based on the description of where collections are made that go to that landfill, she's probably someone who went missing from western PA, western NY, eastern OH, or northern WV.

It sounded like a recent death. Other reports said there were several missing persons in the area they were checking to look for an identity. It all sounded current. I always keep a watch out for older remains locally. With the location I would have though Michele Reidenbach at a first guess, but this did not sound at all cold as far as the age of remains.

Investigators say the remains of a female juvenile was discovered at the waste transfer station on Wednesday. However, authorities are not yet releasing the the name of the victim to the public, saying that another agency is conducting an investigation.

State Police did not identify the other agency, or the nature of the investigation.

Although an autopsy has been performed, the coroner has not released a cause of death. Authorities have previously said that they are treating the case as a homicide.

Authorities say that a body found at a waste transfer facility is that of a teen missing from Austintown.

Police tell 21 News that that the victim is 16-year-old Gina Burger.

According to the Ohio Attorney General's missing persons website, Burger has been missing from Austintown since June 23, and was considered an endangered runaway.
We don't have a missing thread for Gina here.

BREAKING: Girl found in trash facility in Mercer has been identified as 16-year-old Gina Burger of Austintown, OH. Austintown Police tell me she was a runaway that was reported missing on Monday night...

Police tell me scars from a surgery and the clothing description helped positively identify her. They are now trying to find out who saw her last and where she was last seen.
And this is why we can't write off any missing teen as "just a runaway."

    From your link:

She and Burger's sister said Burger went to go get tea from a neighbor in the complex Monday at 8 p.m. When she wasn't back in two hours, they alerted authorities.
So was it LE who labeled Gina a runaway? Sounds like it could've been a straight-up abduction to me.

Seriously! Who runs away wearing socks and no shoes.
Unless I've provided a link, most of what I say is my own opinion. Sometimes, I'm thinking out loud and may explore avenues I don't necessarily think are true, but I'm always aware I could be wrong, so I check other stuff out.
