Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Authorities continue search for missing Anniston woman

Anniston police Capt. Allen George declined to give specific details related to Mize’s disappearance, but said there is reason for concern. “She’s (sic) hasn’t picked up her paycheck yet this week, and that has us concerned,” George said.

Anniston police used cell phone records and data tracking to find the area where Margie Mize's cell phone last pinged. Monday morning a couple of officers found a body in a vehicle that had crashed into a ravine on Cleburne County Road 24, a couple of miles from the Calhoun County border. The car has been identified as belonging to the missing 45-year-old woman, and police believe the crash happened on or soon after June 24th, when she was first reported missing.

The dog is still alive and did not appear injured. Animal control came to get the dog, but it ran off into the woods. Family members are going to try to find the dog.

The body has been sent to forensics for positive identification.

According to a news release, investigators were walking the roadside along Cleburne County 24 earlier today near the entrance to Cheaha State Park when they found an overturned vehicle by the roadside.

Capt. Allen George said the vehicle appeared to have left the roadway and stuck a large tree. It overturned in a heavily wooded ravine, which probably made it harder for passing cars to spot it. The Cleburne County Sheriff's Office and county coroner's office were called to the scene.

The vehicle and body were removed after noon and the body was sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Huntsville for an autopsy. However, George said investigators are "confident" the body is Mize's.

Police said Mize's dog Katey was with her owner's vehicle when they arrived, and appeared uninjured.
