Family members are asking for help from the public to locate 19-year-old Erin Corwin, who has been missing from her home on board the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center since 7 a.m. Saturday, June 28.

According to information provided by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Corwin’s husband reported her missing on Sunday, June 29. Corwin is reported to be three months pregnant, according to the sheriff’s department.

According to her sister-in-law, DeeAnna Heavilin, Corwin left in her 2013 Toyota Corolla on her way to Joshua Tree National Park and has not been seen or heard from since... The vehicle, she said, later, was found on Valle Vista Road.

She's described as 5-foot-2 with light brown hair. She was last seen about 7am Saturday morning.

Her sister tells KMIR NEWS that Corwin was apparently on her way to Joshua Tree National Park to look for a campsite for a future trip there.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department and Joshua Tree National Park Rangers began an extensive search by air and on the ground. The San Bernardino Sheriff's Homicide Detail was also called in to assist with the investigation.

Was her car found close to home or closer to Joshua Tree? She's so cute, and has such a sweet face.
 
One of the comments indicated her car was located on the base, but that is considered rumor.
 
The first article says it was found on Valle Vista Road. Here's a preliminary map:

The first article reports her as 3 months pregnant but her Facebook announcement was January 16th. That would put her at least 5 months pregnant now...right? An error in the article? Her absence is very worrisome!
 
My son is training in 29 Palms right now. He's too tight lipped to say anything. But that won't keep me from asking.

Cute, pregnant Marine wife goes on scouting trips for campgrounds by herself? This place is desolate, hot, and a bit creepy. It's been about 108 degrees recently.

I wonder if she had any car trouble?

IMO, she looks like she could be pregnant in post #2 above (the formal pic). I wonder if that pic is recent. I would say yes, she is further along than 3 mod if she announced it on Fbook back in January.

I do see a baby registry at BabiesRus (due date 9/11/2014) but there are no items listed. Now I have to wonder if there were items there at one time, and if someone has removed them? If so, who did that - someone who knew there would be no baby coming? :(

And she wasn't reported missing by her husband until the next day? Very odd, but there is so little info out there right now to make clear sense.

If that due date is correct she is due fairly soon. Makes sense she's farther than 5 months along if she announce it on FB in January. Most (not all, but most!) women wait until their second trimester to announce their pregnancies.

Also, has anyone found a screen name she used kind anywhere? The Bump has a very large and active pregnancy forum.

Her car, a blue 2013 Toyota Corolla, was possibly sighted in Joshua Tree National Park about 8 a.m. Saturday.

“Her vehicle was recovered Monday, June 30 about one block off of base but she wasn’t with it” on Valle Vista Road. “Her phone has been dead/off since Saturday and Facebook messages, text messages, voicemails that friends have left are not being returned.”

Corwin’s mother was planning a trip to Twentynine Palms for her birthday, and Corwin was busy planning things for them to do. “She was super excited,” her sister-in-law said, noting that, on the day she disappeared, she told her husband she was going to the park to find things for she and her mother to do together.

I don't see myself wanting to go hiking with my mother if I was that far along in my pregnancy. I would want to be finish shopping to have things all ready for the baby. Was she an outdoor enthusiast?
 
Hiking in that heat while pregnant? Was that usually something she was interested in? If she had been there before, would she have to drive there to see it to plan? Hinky meter is on the delay in reporting!!
 
The sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail is now assisting in the investigation. “... because they felt that there were definite suspicious circumstances.” The division has advanced investigative skills, including interviewing techniques, and is well-suited “when it comes to investigations that involve the possibility of foul play.”

Investigators are not seeking volunteer help for search-and-rescue efforts at this time. “They really don’t know where she is or what happened to her, and there is the potential for foul play,” so any search parties could potentially contaminate evidence, sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Bachman said.
