Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Crews continue search for missing Livingston County man

According to the county EMA, 60-year-old Dr. J.P. Lyles was last seen at the Canal Campground around noon Wednesday, July 2. With the help of more than 60 volunteers, authorities believe they've eliminated areas where the missing man might have been. That includes where he was last seen near the campgrounds at his home in Marina Village. Security footage shows him leaving his home. That's the last time he was seen. Crews have been searching land and water on Thursday. The doctor is said to have been active, walking five miles per day.

Police say Lyles left his residence without taking any of the medication needed to treat the serious illness he suffers from.

Livingston County Deputy Director of Emergency Management Kenny Vincent says an email sent from Lyles' account about three hours after he was last seen failed to yield clues to his whereabouts.

Calloway, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken and Trigg counties sent rescue teams to help with the search. Boats from Livingston and Marshall counties searched Lake Barkley, Kentucky Lake and the canal.

Officials have scaled back a search for a doctor who wandered away from his western Kentucky home after three days searching without turning up any sign of him.

Livingston County Emergency Management Deputy Director Kenny Vincent says crews have searched 3,764 square acres and 12 miles of shoreline twice between Thursday and Friday in an attempt to find 60-year-old John P. Lyles...

Vincent told The Paducah Sun the search resumed Saturday, but was limited to emergency responders. Volunteers were asked not to join.

Reading further, he mentions pancreatic cancer. He mentions 3 gold seeds being inserted via endoscopy to check for size or growth. So sad.

Looks like he has treatments scheduled to start tomorrow. My mom had PC. He has already been through several medical treatments that would probably leave him weak, and possibly confused. Chemo can do that. Hope he is found safe soon.

This thread is classified as "found safe" and needs to be changed to deceased.

Really? The mod did goof and originally added Found Safe to the title, but I alerted as soon as I noticed and it was changed to Found Deceased pretty quickly. That was a couple of hours ago, so I'm not sure why you'd still be seeing Found Safe by the time you posted.

Weird forum glitch. On the "Missing" page it's listed as "found safe". On this forum, the "located" forum, the thread is entitled "Found deceased". It still shows safe on the other one.
