Man discovers skeletal remains while cutting overgrown area

Skeletal remains were found Sunday around 1 p.m. near the Old Ferry Landing in St. Francisville, according to the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office.
A worker, who was bush-hogging the property just north of (to the right of) the landing. noticed the bones in an overgrown area near the tree line. He immediately contacted authorities.

At this time, we have no information on the race, sex, age, or ID of the body, Foster said.
West Feliciana does have two unsolved missing persons cases; however we have no indications that this case is in any way related, Foster said.

Erin Foster, the public information officer for WFPSO, said the remains were found in an overgrown area off Ferdinand Street in St. Francisville, which is near the old ferry landing, around 1 p.m.

The bones were taken to LSUs FACES lab to be analyzed.
