    Horse trapped underground for 24hrs, secs from mercy death - then farmer has idea

    There is a video of the moment at the link and it's heartwarming.

    A horse in Huddersfield, UK, fell through into a concrete chamber buried deep underground in a field. Fire fighters couldn't lift it out with sedation, and a vet couldn't sedate it in such a tiny space.

    A mercy killing was the only answer. Owners had already been informed their poor horse was about to die, when the landowner had a brainwave - dig the horse out through the side. Out came his digger and, some time later, catch the moment.....
