A pilot has dropped 3,000 ping pong balls on a busy highway instead of a festival field in Blackfoot, Idaho. The balls were redeemable for prizes worth up to $100, and police had to act quickly to stop people running on the highway to get them.
The misplaced drop's being blamed on wind direction.
'Taylor said she could hear the balls popping as they were struck by cars on I-15. She said she was worried that might not be all that the cars would hit. Taylor said hundreds of the balls ended up in the median between the northbound and southbound lanes and the police had to react quickly to keep people off the busy, high-speed roadway.'
