Staff Sgt. Terry Langley said others at the residence the man was staying at were "looking toward supernatural causes as opposed to providing us any information,"according to the Edmonton Journal. The family declined to be interviewed by police.

I laughed when I read it, but felt guilty when I realized the man suffered 2nd degree burns. He and his friends were apparently engaged in some shady business, though, and opted to give an nonsensical explanation rather than tell the truth. How can anyone take him seriously? How can LE identify and arrest a suspect when the victim attributes his injuries to supernatural phenomena? Maybe LE will just decide that he paid the price for whatever he was involved in.

No suspects have been identified and the investigation remains ongoing.
