KY - Adam Gregg, 34, Louisville, 17 July 2014 *Arrest*

I couldn't find a thread on this if one was already started. My apologies if there is already one. A mod can just stick this there if one already exists. I've tried to put as many of the local news links that I could find here. I also hope I put this in the right place. Someone please move it where it should go if it isn't.

A woman in Oldham County noticed "something" alongside her mile-long driveway this past Thursday (7/17).
It has since been determined that it was the body of homicide victim Adam Gregg, 34, of Louisville.

Gregg worked as a driver for a small taxi service run by his family. He was reported missing after he failed to pick his wife up from work Thursday evening.

His last known whereabouts were when he picked someone up at a Red Roof Inn on Preston Hwy in Louisville. From what I could gather, the hotel is close to where I-65 and I-264 (Watterson Expressway) intersect near the Louisville Fair/Expo Center and Louisville International Airport. That is probably one of the busiest intersections in Louisville. Countless residents and commuters go near there every day, as does anyone travelling long-distance that has to go through Louisville.

A few staying at RRI stated that Gregg's last fare was acting "strangely." That wasn't really explained in detail, beyond them behaving in a way that made others take note. The fare was apparently trying to get to a relative's home (location not specified as yet).

To make a long story short (a story with many as yet unknown details), Gregg had contact with his father mid-afternoon while he was still driving his client. He was found deceased alongside a very long driveway off of US-42 in rural Oldham County. Though the area is classified as rural, most around here would still consider it "Rich People Land." I hope no one takes offense to my last sentence. That's just the first thing that popped into my mind when I heard where he was found.

The woman who found Gregg was (rightfully) shocked. Finding a murder victim anywhere would be upsetting, but this lady lives around a mile off of the road at the end of a (very) long driveway. To find a body in that out-of-the-way of a place (especially aside your own private road leading to your home) would be terrifying!

The said driveway is around 25-mi from the Red Roof Inn. But as some time was apparently spent looking for the relative's home, it really can't be known how far Gregg actually traveled between the two points.

I have this link in my first post but I just noticed that this has a lot of details about his final client. Most of the stories seemed like they said basically the same thing, so I didn't inspect each one that thoroughly.

He was white and approx 5'10", 200-lbs. They also have a (as yet unreleased) photo of him.
Gregg is said to have been stabbed and put up a struggle.

He purportedly said he was a vet that served overseas. That is sad in itself as I know that many who have to go over to the Mideast come back with scars. Some are scarred physically, but even more are scarred emotionally.

That certainly was quick. Thankfully the perpetrator was not too bright and was still driving the car. It will be interesting to discover if he was in fact a Vet or not.

Here's the latest from a local channel about the arrest. Apparently he drove the cab all the way to New York...
He may have also been trying to make it to Canada, which isn't a very long way from Watertown.

There was also a murder/suicide involving a teenage girl and her aunt's ex. I saw it when checking on updates for this case.
That was in Trimble County, the next county NE from Oldham. The location of this m/s was actually not far from US-42 either.

The cabbie was killed over drugs, or more likely the money to get them...

I have a problem with being too open about things already, but with the way my life is at the time-being, I LOVE drugs.
By that I mean something that will take me "away" from where I am now.
I've thus far tried anything/everything I could that doesn't involve needles, heroin included.
I'm not proud of it, but I definitely won't deny any of that BS. It's "my" BS and I deal with it myself every day. It wastes more time/energy trying to keep that kind of thing a secret from everyone than just 'fessing up. I don't have the energy to do that crap. I doubt I ever will.

I've also known plenty of junkies/druggies throughout the years, so I kinda/sorta understand their mindset.
But still, what I don't understand is how someone would get their "need" so out-of-control that they'd take someone's life because of it.
I could ashamedly understand that if someone were deep into the "game" and got snitched on (etc) that they'd want that person to suffer and/or die.

In this case, it sounds like the purported killer would have had NO reason (other than something they could steal) to have hurt the cab driver, or anyone else for that matter, to get their next fix.

I admit that I may have problems myself, but I cannot imagine my need for drugs/alcohol ever leading to the point where I'd ever steal/cheat or hurt (much less kill) another person. I actually think that people like him (the killer) just "don't care" anymore. I know that truly can happen, but I just don't understand how it gets to that point.
