Woman avoids sentencing for forgery, with forged doctor's note

A woman in Maryland due for sentencing on forgery charges, avoided the hearing. By presenting a forged doctor's sicknote.

Shannon Lee, 'used a fake doctorís note to explain why she missed sentencing on forgery and burglary charges in Prince Georgeís County, prosecutors said.

Accused of renting out foreclosed homes she didn't own, Shannon Lee pleaded guilty, but she didnít show up for sentencing July 11, claiming she was sick.'

The doctors listed hadn't worked at the hospital for two years, and it wasn't even the correct paperwork for that hospital. Lee's listed address, meanwhile, turned out to be a UPS store.

Her sentencing's been rescheduled for August.

She sounds a little inept but if you look at the charges, seems she was able to make forgery pay.

'Prosecutors said Lee also falsified paperwork in order to transfer the deed for a $280,000 Cheltenham home into her name. The paperwork asserted that she was the daughter of a D.C. couple who owned the home, although the couple told police they are now divorced and have no children.

In the final case, prosecutors said Lee again falsified documents for a foreclosed townhouse and in 2013 rented the property to a family through Craigslist after claiming she had inherited the home from a dead relative. The family signed contracts to lease the home in May 2013 and paid Lee $1,500 a month in rent.'

Sounds like there isn't an honest bone in her body.
