GUILTY SD - Spearfish South Dakota man indicted on child advertiser censored charges

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Spearfish, South Dakota, man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Production of Child *advertiser censored* Transported to the United States, Travel with Intent to Engage in Sexual Activity, and Possession of Child *advertiser censored*.

Richard William Melanson, age 51, was indicted on April 8, 2014.

The Indictment charges that between January 2008 and June 2011, Melanson knowingly possessed computer files that contained child *advertiser censored* images, induced a minor outside of the United States to produce a pornographic image, and traveled to Guatemala to engage in sexual acts with minors.

Can't wait to bump into him in Safeway...oh wait, I can't because he is in jail. lol I hope they keep him there.

Spearfish man gets 30 years for sex crimes against Guatemalan boys

RAPID CITY - A federal judge on Monday here sentenced a Spearfish man to 30 years in prison for traveling to Guatemala for years to sexually abuse boys.

U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Viken sentenced Richard Melanson, 53, after a daylong hearing Monday in which two boys from Guatemala testified.
