Illinois State Police on Wednesday said the skeletal remains found in Rochester are those of a 30- to 40-year-old white woman...

The remains, which have not been identified, were found Saturday in a shed in the back yard of a property at 309 Park St. by a resident who was cleaning. The remains had been in the shed for an extended period of time, Sangamon County Coroner Cinda Edwards said. The death is “likely consistent with a homicide,” Edwards added...

Several items were collected as evidence and will be processed by the Illinois State Police forensic laboratory. It could take several weeks to get the results.

I wonder if this could be Michelle Bianco, who disappeared in 2008:

Her last known location was about eight miles away.

ETA: Oops, I see on Michelle's thread that other sleuthers are thinking the same way.

The skeletal remains found in Rochester last week are not those of a 43-year-old former Springfield woman who has been missing for the past six years, the Sangamon County coroner’s office said Thursday...

Coroner Cinda Edwards said Thursday that her office was able to rule out Bianco through an examination of dental records.

Keri Gillenwater looks like a good possible. She's a missing person and possible fugitive who went missing with her husband. One month after they both disappeared, her husband told one of their daughters that he didn't know where she was. He hasn't been seen since.

1. She's a white female whose age is within range, so the little information we have about the UP lines up with Gillenwater.
2. She went missing only 70 miles away from Rochester.
3. The circumstances definitely seem to line up. There's no indication of foul play in her case (yet), but you'd think she'd have tried to contact one of her four daughters by now. There's also a history of domestic violence between her and her husband.

ETA:

There's also Benedetta Bentley, missing since May 2010.
Her age is just one year out of range, she went missing about 98 miles away, and the circumstances suggest she was murdered.

This sounds like they don't know about Namus/Codis:

Campbell said the fact that Norman McCaster was a member of the Illinois National Guard was crucial to determining his identity. The military keeps a database of DNA the sheriff’s office used to get a match.
Authorities can also try to match someone’s genetic information in a database of convicted criminals, he added.
But even if authorities don’t get a match on the DNA, they can continue to review missing-person cases and monitor new reports. State police reached out to the sheriff’s office about the Bianco case, Campbell said.

The human remains found in a Rochester shed on July 19 have been identified as those of a 43-year-old white woman from Decatur.

Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Eric Hall said the identity was confirmed using dental records and forensic evidence. An autopsy on the remains was conducted by the Sangamon County coroner's office. He said the woman was never on any missing persons lists.

Investigators said the woman's family has been notified but are not releasing her name because the investigation is ongoing.

The skeletal remains of a woman found in a shed in Rochester earlier this summer have been identified as those of Tracy Trimby, 43, of Decatur.

According to Sangamon County Coroner Cinda Edwards, a specially trained forensic dentist made the identification. DNA evidence analyzed at the Illinois State Police Crime Lab verified the remains as Trimby’s.

A former area resident who recently relocated to Utah has been charged with concealing the body of a 43-year-old Decatur woman found in a storage shed in a Rochester yard in July.

Bradley D. Perkins, 40, is charged with concealment of a homicidal death — a Class 3 felony punishable by up to 2 to 5 years — but prosecutors says more charges may be coming.

“Based on the email and very limited information we had concerning what happened back in 2010, this was the only charge that was available at this time,” he said.

If more information becomes available about what role Perkins played in Trimby’s death, then additional charges could be filed, Milhiser said.
