A missing person report has now turned into a possible abduction case, according to Lockland police. James Rolman, 72, was last seen at about 11:30 a.m. Friday withdrawing what police said was a large amount of money from the US Bank on Williams Street in Lockland.

Lockland police said they received video from US Bank showing an unknown man wearing a blue shirt and white shoes walk up to Rolman’s car after he left the bank. The unknown man then got into Rolman’s car.

Rolman has brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5 foot 11 and weighs about 235 pounds, police said. He was last seen driving a 2013 Ford Taurus with Ohio license plate FTM4893.

I have been following this on the local news. I am very worried about Mr Rolman. They showed a still shot from the video but it will be difficult to identify the man who got into the car unless someone recognizes his clothing. I am curious as to why he withdrew a large sum of money.

He was withdrawing money for his employee payroll. It looks like he was reported missing only an hour after leaving the bank.

From your link:

Rolman was last seen at the US Bank on Williams Street. He was withdrawing $6,500 for his employees' payroll and for other materials for his business, officials said...

"His cellphone was actually turned off at 11:30, right when he left the bank. We've already tried to do a ping on that. We've tried different steps of doing what our protocols called for; we have had no luck on any of that," said Toles.

Texas Equusearch, a search and rescue organization, will have a team in Lockland Saturday at 8 a.m. to help with the search.

According to officials, the suspect was spotted by an FBI agent on Cross County Highway east of I-75 in eastern Hamilton County. The suspect got on eastbound Interstate 275 and headed slowly through Colerain township and came to a stop at Blue Rock Road. He got out of his vehicle and was sitting on a guardrail.

Police took the suspect into custody after negotiators talked to him. Lockland Police Sergeant Chris Bundren confirmed that the pursuit was a person of interest involving the murder of Rolman.

The person of interest's name is not being released at this time.

This is awful! Goes to show you are not safe anywhere.

Christopher McFerron, of Lockland, is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center on one count each of inducing panic, having a weapon while intoxicated, and resisting arrest, according to court documents.

McFerron led dozens of police officers on an hour-and-10-minute chase that wound through Interstate 74 to Interstate 275 east, forcing officers to close portions of the highway.

Court documents indicate McFerron began holding a .40 caliber Taurus semi-automatic pistol to his head after stopping his vehicle on I-74 and ordering his wife to get out of the car. Police learned later McFerron had allegedly ingested heroin during the slow-speed chase, which ranged between 2 and 30 mph.

2 and 30 mph? Hmmm
Btw, that perp is not at all what I was picturing in my mind. Thought he'd be much younger. But I guess heroin could do that to you.

Just a speed freak and an opportunist.

I wonder why he felt like he needed to shoot the guy after robbing and abducting him ?

I'm curious if they knew one another or if he was employed at the scrap yard that the victim owned at some point in time.

They are releasing details on this pretty rapidly. It's nice to see a police department that doesn't hold back information from the public and releases details as they get them.

I'll bet his wife is going to end up being involved in this as well.

Man charged in Lockland death might not be shooter

The man taken into custody after a police chase Saturday has been charged with aggravated murder in the death of a 72-year-old man abducted from Lockland.

Christopher R. McFerron, 44, of Lockland, allegedly caused the death of James Rolman Friday while attempting an aggravated burglary, according to court documents. But police couldn't say Monday at a press conference if McFerron was the gunman who killed Rolman.

"We're still trying to determine if there is more than one individual," said Lockland Police Chief Jim Toles.

I remember noticing the guy in the initial abduction video was wearing what looked like shorts and white socks. When the chase was over, the guy was wearing long pants. Maybe that is why they are unsure if he is the right guy............or the only guy.

Rolman was found Saturday morning dead in his car, which had been hidden inside a silo behind the closed J&R Trucking, where McFerron used to work.

Toles said McFerron had in the past taken scrap metal to Rolman's business and knew Rolman's routine.

McFerron was a person of interest in the homicide investigation Saturday when he led dozens of police officers on an hour-and-10-minute chase that wound through Interstate 74 to Interstate 275 east, forcing officers to close portions of the highway.

Just like I suspected.....he knew him.

A second man charged in the abduction and killing last year of a Lockland business owner pleaded guilty to manslaughter Thursday and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Jason Brown, 34, was waiting in a truck when prosecutors say Christopher McFerron lured James Rolman to a nearby area, apparently to show him scrap metal he wanted to sell, shot Rolman in the head and took his money.
