The annual San Diego Zombie Walk became less like fun and more like a scene from one of the movies, when a vehicle struck a 64 year old woman. The vehicle, containing a deaf family with small children, was pursued down the street by a bunch of angry zombies and its windshield was smashed.

According to NBC, police say the driver attempted to edge across a pedestrian crossing where he'd been waiting some time, and as zombies gathered angrily around the car, he accelerated to get away and clipped the woman. The driver then pulled over when he found a police car.

The organizers of the walk aren't commenting about the incident now and have suspended their tweets for the weekend. But it is noticeable that a slightly different picture of the incident was emerging there, from people who said they were present. I've linked the twitter below.

There's a photo gallery here of the zombie walk, for anyone who wants to see what it's all about. There's no suggestion any of the participants shown had any connection with the incident. WARNING, it shows gruesome zombies!

The most informative tweet was "he'd been layin on his horn before he started burning his tyres". It seems impatience was the cause not the "zombies".
Horribe impatient dangerous motorist...:cat:

This is my neighborhood, lol. Yay comic con! Traffic was terrible last night.

Driver chased by angry zombies in San Diego

When I used fear of being chased by angry zombies as my reason for not ever going to San Diego, my friends and family scoffed. Pfft. Who's scoffing now, Mom and Uncle Fred and (former friend) Harriett?!
