Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Her husband frequently traveled for his job, selling valves for water treatment plants. But she said he always let her know where he was.

James Buckner was last seen around 11:30 p.m. July 9 at a Valero store in Montgomery, on the corner of F.M. 105 and F.M. 149, not far from his home.

Texas Equusearch traced James Buckner's cellphone to Livingston, with the help of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department. Volunteers initiated a search there Monday and discovered Buckner's truck parked outside a La Quinta motel at 440 U.S. 59 Loop South. James Buckner had not stayed at the motel.

A Texas-based group that had been embroiled in a legal fight over the use of drones in its searches for missing persons has resumed utilizing the unmanned aircraft.

Texas EquuSearch began using a drone Wednesday in its search in Livingston in East Texas for a 57-year-old man missing since July 9.

The flight is the first since the group received a favorable appeals court ruling earlier this month.

So July 8th, he calls her at night from his hotel room in Waco.
July 9th, he is seen at the Valero near their home in Montgomery but wife is out of town for 2 days and does not see him or talk to him? Who saw him at the Valero?
July 10th, he misses a business meeting and wife files MP report.

Seems if he calls her every night to let her know he is safe when he is on the road working, he'd also call her to let her know he arrived home safe on his arrival. Probably over-analyzing but did she not hear from him when he returned to Montgomery from Waco July 9th?

James Buckner, 57 of Magnolia last talked to his wife as he turned in for the night in a hotel room in which she thought was Waco, Texas. That was on July 9th...

They also checked security cameras at the hotel but learned their cameras, like many others due to hard drive storage space, re-write over previous video every seventy-two hours. They were able to tell the vehicle had been there at least 3 days.

Records were checked and it was determined Buckner never checked into the La Quinta. The hotel was searched but turned up nothing.

A 57-year-old Magnolia man who had been missing for more than three weeks was found dead in a wooded area near a deserted golf course in Livingston on Thursday afternoon, according to volunteer search detectives...

“We searched an area back in the back, detected a foul odor, investigated, and found a body back there in the back,” Tibbs said. “We notified the police and they came out. It was in an old deserted golf course. There were extremely dense weeds that had grown up and brush area. It was difficult to get through. We had to get on our hands and knees to get back there.”

Thank God for Tim Miller, TX Equusearch volunteers, and police for finding this man. The family now has answers and can begin healing.

EDITORS NOTE: After spending several days with James Buckner’s wife Kathy it was very evident she had put her husbands fate in God’s hands. In 2011 during the wildfires of Magnolia their property was saved not once but twice as firefighters stopped the blaze just as it was about to come onto their property. Again this morning she said it had been hard but she believed God had taken a load off her and her husband would be found today. With no wind all day, three hours after she commented about them finding him today, and on a trail which had been searched and was not going to be searched again, Alvin walked down it when a wind gust came up with a familiar odor and allowed James Buckner to be found. Kathy said she would like to thank all the volunteers who helped in the search. Please keep the Buckner Family in your prayers.

    RIP James

"It was Wednesday night when a female employee at La Quinta, seeing the flyers, contacted authorities and stated she believed she has seen Buckner several weeks ago. She stated he entered the hotel one evening carrying a flashlight and was perspiring extensively. She said his clothes had been torn and was offered water and told sit down to cool off.

Buckner refused an offer for a room and told the female he was going to go walking in the woods behind the hotel.

Mr. Jim, I'm so sorry you are no longer with us. I wonder what was driving you to walk the woods (even being found dead in a wooded area) - simple exercise, or ? Just can't imagine.

The missing poster shows you were wearing shorts and flip flops when last seen - is that what you were wearing the night you were "carrying a flashlight and perspiring extensively" and then went walking in the woods? Flip flops in the woods? Not scared of TX snakes? Something seems strange to me, but I guess I just need to stop thinking and let him rest in peace. Godspeed Mr. Buckner.
