BalCo Police Looking For Missing Woman And Her Boyfriend

A North Point woman is missing, along with her boyfriend, under conditions her family calls 'suspicious,' according to Baltimore County Police. The woman, Dorothy Grubbs, 60, of Manor Road, was last seen Thursday night around 9 p.m. She is believed to be possibly in the company of her boyfriend, Clyde Campbell. He drives a white Ford F-150 pick-up truck with Maryland registration 6AS 6121.

I wonder if there's been problems before. Did anybody report him missing besides her family?

Did anyone notice or is it just me from reading the FB pages that it appears he is frustrated among other things with Maryland and stated about going back to Florida to work?
He seems to have trouble with the English language. He seems to love guns and seems frustrated about things, yes.

I hope he responds to the daughter on FB. He has a list of things he likes in a woman and I wonder if Dorothy took offense that rambling. I would have. They seem a mismatched pair to me. I guess LE knows where he lives/works. He must have access to Wifi. Odd for sure.

Police say the boyfriend of a North Point woman reported missing Saturday was arrested this morning on an open warrant for a weapons violation. Unfortunately, the woman, Dorothy Grubbs, 60, remains missing.

The man, Clyde Campbell, 53, is in police custody, Baltimore County police report. He's charged on a weapons violation, unrelated to the missing persons case...

Dorothy Grubbs is a white female, 5'5" tall, 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt of unknown color. She has no known medical problems.

He is now in police custody and has not yet appeared before a court commissioner on the weapons violation, which is unrelated to the missing persons case.

Police want to talk to Campbell to see if he has information that may help them find 60-year-old Dorothy Grubb.

Grubb’s adult daughter called police Saturday at 6:30 p.m. to report that she had not seen her mother since the evening of July 24 and was concerned for her welfare because of a history of domestic violence with Campbell.

On Tuesday, Grubb's daughter, Kristi Grubb, described a very unsettling conversation that she had with her mom the last time she spoke with her.

"She had mentioned that there was a problem and that he put a gun in her face on Wednesday, and she had said that she felt scared to be with him anymore, and she was thinking about breaking it off with him," Kristi Grubb said.

Kristi Grubb said that conversation happened around 9 p.m. Thursday.

Baltimore County police would not say what caused them to search an area of Dundalk near the Peninsula Expressway where Grubb's body was found. The investigation continues.

Baltimore County police said the body the 60-year-old's body was located just before 11 p.m. Tuesday along Peninsula Expressway in Dundalk near the drawbridge and Reservoir Road...

Armacost said the medical examiner has not yet determined the cause and manner of death.

According to this person, on July 24, the couple was in a heated verbal argument upstairs in the second floor bathroom. The documents say “…during this argument, a loud ‘pop’ sound was heard.”

A neighbor who also heard that noise called police, who came to the home to check it out but, with no warrant, they did not go inside. Instead, they spoke to Clyde and his 14-year-old son outside.

The witness goes on to tell investigators: “Campbell went into the bathroom and began to drag Dorothy’s body out of the bathroom and down the steps. Once outside, Campbell put the victim in a tarp and then put her lifeless body in the bed of his Ford truck and left.”

Don't tell me the 14 year old son was a witness to all this. He must have been there all the time as police report he was there when they attended the disturbance reported by the neighbour. JMO

On April 19, 2016 Clyde Campbell was sentenced to 30 years for second degree murder for the death of Dorothy Grubb.
There is a PDF file, Clyde Campbell v. State of Maryland No 1103, Circuit Court for Baltimore county, Case No 03-K-14-004633. Unfortunately, I can't copy a link to it.

I'm also unable to link on my phone but I looked under Maryland Case Search and it shows him, Clyde Calvin Campbell, pleading guilty in 2/20 to second degree murder and getting 25 years. Whether it was 25 or 30 years, dosent seem like enough! ETA..looks like he filed an appeal for sentence reduction..thats probably why the difference. I see initially they were seeking LWOP.
