You calling this one in mom?

No, I just find the story sad for the daughter. Hope we could help solve the mystery.

Does someone need to call this in? I've never done one, but will try if it will help somebody!

Right down to the Angel Flight pants (popular in the disco era when Stanley went missing)... UID range 1-10 years in '89, '77 would put it at 12 years, definitely within the margin of error.

Everybody has a first time, you have my blessings. The coroner is at the following link for the UID. Interestingly, the above UID is not listed.

When I first saw this thread, Aileen Wuonos immediately came to mind. The other best bet is that he just took off to fly home and crashed in some unfound place. The link says that he had no license and filed no flight plan but I wonder if he would file one if he had no pilot's license.

Flying from Ft Lauderdale to Kansas City would involve flying over the Gulf of Mexico, Eh?

If he owned several planes but never filed a flight plan in his own name, he was probably hiring pilots.

Wondering if he could have flown from Ft Lauderdale to the Tampa area and run into trouble there. Possibly whoever was piloting the plane?
Build matches, facial structure, injuries, dentals.

I missed this possibility when it was suggested. Remains of a large man in his 50's found in a burned-out airplane in Lake County, which is on the route from Fort Lauderdale to Missouri Google Maps. Found in 1981 but date of death is "unknown" per Doe Network, so presumably the crash wasn't witnessed.

Did you submit it, @Coffee56 ?

I did not. I do like how sure of the match I was in my early days of sleuthing though. I do still think it’s worth submitting if someone would like to. I’m a suggestion person but leave calling them in to others much better at it. I wish there was more info on whether he flew his planes or if he always hired a pilot.

Looks like Stanley raced cars too. Still reading through but maybe some tidbits of info here.

Stan Borofsky: Any New Or Old Viewers Have Any Info Anything For A Daughter Page 1 Racing From The Past

unable to open without a subscription but name is mentioned in 1st paragraph. He was not the racer killed.

Racing Driver Is Killed (Published 1967)

I was able to get in and see the thread. There's a post from his daughter looking for information, and several replies. It sounds like he was a fairly well known driver and that he didn't race any more after a bad accident in Iowa--I assume that was where he had all those broken bones from.

One of the replies says his nickname was "the Mad Russian."

Summary text of the news article:

KNOXVILLE, Iowa, Aug. 12 (AP)--Dan Kreuger of Kansas City was killed tonight when his racing car cracked up in a preliminary of the national super modified races at the Marion County Fairgrounds. Kreuger's racer bumped into one driven by Stan Borofsky of Grandview, Mo., and went into an end-over-end flip.

This is one that if there was just a little bit more info on either side it could be an easy R/O. Did he ever pilot? Did the remains have previous injuries?
