The body of a young woman was transported from a private residence in Highland Park when the residents were unable to wake her after a night of partying. The only information the residents had is that she called herself "Bill" and she was a runaway from a youth home in Ohio and was picked up on 7 Mile in Detroit.

I searched missing girls from Ohio and Michigan in the mid-to-late 70's but didn't find anyone with matching circumstances. I also could not find this UID on the Doe Network. I wonder if a postmortem exists somewhere? I wonder who it was that picked her up?

I couldn't help but notice the strong resemblance to Sylvie Ouimet of Montreal.

Aside from the three-inch height discrepancy, the other particulars and the circumstances seem plausible.

• Her age (21 at the time of discovery) is consistent with the 17-54 estimate.
• Her eyes were blue, as were those of the Jane Doe
• She appears to have voluntarily walked out of a hospital, so the Jane Doe's apparent status as a runaway would seem consistent.
• The location (Detroit) is right across the border from Canada, and about 560 miles from Montreal.
• The timeline (April 1975 to March 1976) would seem plausible considering the circumstances of her disappearance.

In addition to the height discrepancy, and considering that she probably spoke with a French accent (if she even spoke English at all), this is probably not a match. But nevertheless, the resemblance is strong enough that I went ahead and e-mailed this in to Lori Bruski.

Lori Jean Lloyd likely ran away from Ohio just a month earlier, so her circumstances fit.
But she's too small and has brown eyes.

Sharon Pretorius fits on many characteristics. She is from Ohio. Her height/weight and eye/hair color match.
But she went missing a few years before. She also didn't have a history of running away or partying.

I'm not sure if there would be a missing persons report. I don't know how many people report runaways as "missing," especially back then. And I've seen that sometimes even if one was filed, it was purged once the kid would be a legal adult.

Five felines - I noticed the height discrepancy but since Janet went missing at 13, I thought it might be possible she had a growth spurt - also wonder if her height was accurate...and the January 1, 1971 date of Janet going missing is odd - maybe a default date?

Great point! My brain is slow today. :banghead:

Can anybody help me with what a size 42 shirt would have been in 1976?

Some thoughts:

-- Maybe she was from Ohio, but Carl's right not to just limit to Ohio girls....if she really was a runaway she might have had reason to lie. So maybe from Ohio, but maybe not. Maybe named "Bill" (Wilhemina? What female names would give the nickname Bill or Billie?) Or maybe Bill was just made up too. If it was, I'd say it might lend more credence to the thought she was lying about where she came from also.

-- She was taken to a hospital. So this recon isn't based on a skeletal recreation. Also, it sounds like if she died from a drug OD she didn't have blunt force trauma, strangulation, lividity, etc. that might have extensively obscured her features. You would think then that this recon is probably very accurate.

-- No DNA but they do have dentals.

Nancy O'Sullivan seems possible. Right hair color, eye color, and age. Disappeared in 1974, had run away before. Last seen with a friend who used drugs, then hitched a ride with someone driving a Cadillac...and never seen again. Foul play now suspected due to the time she's been gone with no contact, but this scenario could fit also. From Illinois, near Chicago, so distance isn't extreme at 4 hours. Height was 5'4 at her disappearance at 15, but she could have grown in 2 years. She was 115 lbs. so 150 would seem like significant weight gain, especially for a runaway so that gives me pause. Nothing jumps out at me that says this has to be her, but I think she looks similar to the sketch.

My bold:
Do you think the checkered slacks could have been Chef Pants? or a uniform of a kitchen person or some trade?

My Bold...

The 25th of March 1976 was a Thursday.
If I understand it correctly, the party was the night before? A Wednesday night party.

I came across Amy Billig and thought I had hit the jackpot. Her resemblance to the UID is pretty similar and though the circumstances of her disappearance are all over the place, it did say she was hitchhiking and she mentioned in her diary that she was going to run away. Her height and weight are a little off, but could've changed in the two years since she had been missing. Only major problem is that her eyes are listed as brown. Could the fact that the UID's are listed as blue OR green mean they weren't really sure? Could Amy have been going by Bill, short for Billig?

Amy Billig's case always makes me so sad. Her mother tried so hard to find her and when people weren't trying to extort her or harass her they were outright lying to her for some sort of gain...

I know this was in Michigan instead of Florida but the Pagan Bikers DID say she died of a drug overdose at a party...

Looks like they are trying to get a DNA profile for these remains.

http://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/wayne/2014/11/10/bodies-exhumed/18797827/

Krebs said one of the cases is an unknown female, presumed to be a juvenile, who died of a drug overdose in 1976. She said the female had told people at a party in Highland Park that her name was "Bill" and that she had run away from a youth home in Ohio.

In all they are looking at five sets of UID remains including NamUs UP8272 discussed here: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...-UP8272-16-25-Had-Recently-Given-Birth-Feb-87

Considering she was basically "Found" before she had even died, I wonder if they would allow a body to decompose in a lab and then check the bones and teeth for age. I mean, it would make sense that that would happen, but decomposition can take months and it smells awful. They might have just buried her before she decomposed

I'm wondering if they didn't check teeth/bones at all, just went by her physical appearance. That is a tough age to tell just by looking at someone, I have looked 15-25 since I was about 13 and am past 25 and still get mistaken for that range.
